Job Overview:
The WBG Pioneer - Data Analysis Intern position is part of the World Bank Group’s Internship Program, designed for undergraduate and postgraduate students seeking a high-impact learning experience in global development. Interns will engage in hands-on projects that contribute to the organization's mission of ending poverty and promoting sustainable development. The role involves working closely with the Women, Business and the Law (WBL) project, which assesses laws and regulations affecting women's economic participation across 190 economies. Interns will be expected to contribute fresh perspectives and innovative ideas while collaborating with international professionals. The position requires a strong analytical mindset, proficiency in data management, and the ability to communicate findings effectively to diverse audiences.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for several key tasks, including:

• Data Preparation, Cleaning, and Quality Control: This involves cleaning, validating, and reconciling large datasets, developing systematic processes for data standardization, and preparing API-ready data outputs.
• Data Analysis: Interns will analyze data to identify trends and prepare reports using tools like Excel or Python. They will present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• AI Integration: The role includes piloting AI-powered workflows, conducting AI-driven analysis, and ensuring the transparency of AI processes.
• Data Visualization: Interns will interpret complex datasets and create intuitive visualizations using tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Conducting data audits and producing quality-assurance reports to track issues and their resolutions.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be master’s candidates in fields such as data analytics, data science, statistics, computer science, machine learning, or artificial intelligence. Strong programming skills in Python are essential, along with experience in managing and analyzing large datasets. Familiarity with JavaScript and SQL is advantageous. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including data management and formula application, are required. Experience with AI-assisted workflows and legal research is a strong plus, as is the ability to analyze data and communicate insights effectively to diverse audiences. Attention to detail, initiative, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities are crucial.

Educational Background:
The position requires candidates to be enrolled in a Master's, PhD, or similar graduate program during the internship. Alternatively, candidates in undergraduate or graduate studies must receive a stipend from their university equivalent to the minimum STT T1 fee level. An official letter from the university confirming that the internship fulfills academic requirements for at least one term of study is necessary for eligibility.

Experience:
Candidates should have relevant experience in data analysis, preferably with a focus on large datasets and AI integration. Experience in legal research and familiarity with AI solutions for system automation will be considered advantageous. The ability to translate data findings into actionable insights and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences is essential.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as excellent communication skills are required for this role. Additional language skills may be beneficial but are not explicitly required.
