Job Overview:
The Communications Associate (Graphic Designer) will play a crucial role in the Partnerships, Communications, and Reports (PCR) Unit of WFP Philippines. This position is designed to enhance the visual communication efforts of the organization, ensuring that high-quality visual content is produced to support various programs and initiatives. The role involves collaborating with program teams, communications colleagues, and external partners to create engaging and professional visual materials that align with WFP's corporate branding standards. The Communications Associate will be responsible for developing visual assets for diverse audiences, contributing to the design and production of communication materials that effectively showcase WFP's work and support its strategic objectives in the Philippines. This position requires a strong understanding of visual design principles and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality and brand consistency.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Communications Associate (Graphic Designer) will have a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to: establishing and maintaining visual design standards for the Country Office, developing and maintaining design templates and style guides, ensuring adherence to WFP branding requirements, providing guidance to colleagues and external vendors on visual identity standards, leading the design and visual production of program materials and learning tools, designing donor-facing products and advocacy materials, developing visual assets for internal and external communications, serving as the primary design liaison with external partners and vendors, conducting quality checks on all design outputs, maintaining version control of design files, and performing any other design and communications tasks as requested by the Communications Officer.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of six years of relevant professional experience in graphic design or visual communication, particularly in designing educational or development communication materials. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Canva Pro is required. Experience in nutrition, food security, or community-based programs is advantageous, as is familiarity with working in a development or humanitarian context. Candidates should also have experience coordinating with external vendors or creative firms and demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Filipino (Tagalog).

Educational Background:
A secondary school education is required, with a bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communication, fine arts, multimedia arts, or a closely related field being highly desirable. Specialized training or certification in instructional design or visual communication for development is considered an advantage.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of six years of relevant professional experience in graphic design or visual communication, with a focus on creating materials for educational, health, or development purposes. Experience working with UN agencies, NGOs, or government programs in the Philippines is desirable, as is familiarity with designing for low-literacy or marginalized populations.

Languages:
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Filipino (Tagalog) are mandatory. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required for this position.

Additional Notes:
This position is a Service Contract at Grade SC-6, with a duration of twelve months and the possibility of extension. It is open to Filipino nationals only. The monthly salary starts from approximately PHP 69,000.00, with additional medical coverage extendable to eligible dependents, leave benefits, and other applicable entitlements.
