Job Overview:
The Institutional Affairs Analyst in the Secretary’s Department (SEC)’s Immediate Office is tasked with a pivotal role that encompasses a wide array of responsibilities aimed at enhancing the operational efficiency of the department. This position is integral to advancing the department’s digital transformation agenda, utilizing IT and AI-driven tools to bolster knowledge management, decision-making processes, and Board operations. The role demands a blend of analytical expertise, creativity, and technical proficiency to modernize and streamline Board processes and improve information-sharing platforms. The selected candidate will collaborate with various teams to manage the workflow in the front office, contribute to the department's IT and AI objectives, and ensure the delivery of accurate and timely information to the Board. Additionally, the position involves providing support for Board and Committee meetings, Annual/Spring Meetings, and IMFC, necessitating familiarity with Board processes and procedures. The ideal candidate will exhibit exceptional organizational skills, the ability to work independently under pressure, and a meticulous attention to detail, all while exercising sound judgment and discretion.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Institutional Affairs Analyst include:
  • Operational and Cross-Team Support: Collaborate with departmental teams to ensure the smooth operation of Executive Board and Committee meetings, utilizing digital solutions to enhance coordination and communication. Provide logistical support for the Annual/Spring Meetings and IMFC.
  • Digital Design and Analytics: Engage in the design and interactive visualization of departmental outputs using AI-enhanced design tools. Manage and analyze data related to Board indicators and engagement trends, developing automated dashboards and visual reports to inform decision-making.
  • Knowledge-Sharing Platforms & Technology Solutions: Assist in the development of AI-powered knowledge-sharing tools and collaborative platforms, creating engaging content and tracking user metrics. Support the implementation of IT and digital innovation projects, identifying business needs and integrating emerging technologies.
  • Presentations and Visual Communication: Design and enhance PowerPoint presentations and communication materials to effectively visualize data and communicate analytical findings.
  • Front Office Responsibilities: Provide support for standard tasks such as preparing speaking notes and documentation for Board meetings, managing internal Board assignments, and assisting with HR, budget, and Accountability Framework issues.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to interact efficiently and diplomatically with high-level stakeholders, including the Office of the Managing Director and Executive Directors. Prior experience in data manipulation and analysis is essential, along with proficiency in data visualization tools like Power BI and AI-driven analytics. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to translate data and technology into practical solutions that support operational and strategic objectives. Institutional knowledge of the IMF's functioning, Executive Board, IMFC, and Board of Governors is advantageous. Excellent organizational skills, the ability to manage a demanding workload under pressure, and strong interpersonal skills are critical for success in this role.

Educational Background:
A university degree or equivalent is required, supplemented by a minimum of three years of relevant work experience. Alternatively, candidates with a minimum of two years of experience in a related position at Grade A6 or equivalent may also be considered.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of relevant work experience, or two years in a related position at Grade A6 or equivalent. Candidates should have a demonstrated ability to manage urgent responsibilities and longer-term projects independently, showcasing strong multi-tasking skills and the ability to prioritize effectively.

Languages:
Strong written and oral communication skills in English are mandatory. Proficiency in additional languages is considered a plus, enhancing the candidate's ability to interact with diverse stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
Candidates must currently reside in the Washington DC metro area to be considered for this position. The selected candidate will maintain their open-ended status if they are a regular staff member. If selected from a contractual position, a Term staff appointment will be offered. The position is expected to be filled at a lower level within the full grade band. Flexibility in working hours and the ability to work overtime, including weekends, may be required.
