Job Overview:
The Director of the Office of Information Technology and Communication Systems (SGIS) at the IAEA is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the development, maintenance, and operation of integrated Information and Communication Technology (ICT) systems and services. This role is crucial for ensuring the security of information and communication within the IAEA's headquarters and regional offices. The Director will report directly to the Deputy Director General for Safeguards and will be responsible for providing strategic direction and guidance on ICT strategy and policy. The position requires a results-oriented approach to leadership, with a focus on motivating staff and fostering a collaborative work environment. The Director will also manage the office's budget and resources, ensuring alignment with the IAEA's strategic objectives and the effective delivery of results.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Director will lead the SGIS team, overseeing its work program, resources, and assets to ensure efficient and effective delivery of results. Key responsibilities include providing strategic direction for the design, development, maintenance, and operations of safeguards ICT systems, with a focus on information integration, quality, and security. The Director will establish implementation policies and procedures in line with departmental strategy, contribute to the formulation of safeguards policies, and lead a team of senior managers and staff. Additionally, the Director will promote compliance with the Departmental quality management system and foster knowledge preservation and growth within the office and department.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in Computer Science, Information Technology Management, Information Security, or a related technical field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree in these fields combined with two additional years of relevant experience may be accepted. The position requires at least 15 years of progressively responsible professional experience, with a minimum of 10 years in ICT management, focusing on security, compliance, and quality management. Candidates should also have at least 5 years of senior-level experience in an international organization or multinational company, demonstrating capability in multicultural leadership and financial resource management.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree in a relevant technical field is required for this position. A first-level university degree may be accepted if accompanied by additional relevant experience. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of ICT systems and their application in a global context.

Experience:
The role demands extensive experience, specifically at least 15 years in progressively responsible positions related to ICT management. Candidates should have substantial experience in leading teams and managing resources, with a strong focus on security, compliance, and quality management. Experience in international settings and with diverse teams is crucial, as the IAEA operates in a multicultural environment.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both oral and written, is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of other official IAEA languages, such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish, is considered an asset and may enhance a candidate's application.
