Job Overview: The Driver position is integral to the operations of the Resident Office (RO) team at the EBRD. The primary function of this role is to provide safe and efficient transportation for authorized personnel, primarily within Warsaw, Poland, and occasionally to other locations, including neighboring countries. The Driver will also be responsible for clerical support tasks as needed. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, adherence to local laws, and compliance with the EBRD's Code of Conduct and travel safety procedures. The Driver must maintain a professional demeanor and appearance while ensuring that the official vehicle is in excellent working condition at all times. The position may involve temporary relocation to Warsaw, with the possibility of working from Ukraine for eligible candidates.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Driver will be responsible for the following duties:
Safely transport authorized personnel to and from airports, transport hubs, meetings, and appointments for official purposes.
Operate the official vehicle in compliance with local driving laws and regulations, ensuring the safety of all passengers.
Maintain a clean and roadworthy vehicle, conducting regular checks and ensuring all necessary equipment is present.
Provide clerical support, including the delivery and collection of mail and documents, answering phones, and recording business transactions.
Keep accurate records of transport logs, fuel usage, and vehicle maintenance.
Ensure the vehicle has valid registration, insurance, and meets local testing requirements.
Identify alternative routes when necessary for safety or efficiency.
Adhere to the EBRD's Driver Rules of Conduct and travel safety guidelines.
Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a valid driving license and demonstrate defensive driving capabilities. A professional driving background with a clean driving record is essential. Candidates should have a thorough understanding of local driving regulations and familiarity with the road networks in Ukraine and Poland. An Advanced Driving Training Certificate is preferable. Basic skills in minor vehicle repairs and maintenance are also required. Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to teamwork are essential for success in this role.
Educational Background: A secondary school education is required for this position. Candidates should have a solid understanding of vehicle operation and maintenance, as well as the ability to communicate effectively in both English and Ukrainian, both verbally and in writing.
Experience: Candidates should have professional driving experience, with a proven track record of safe driving. Familiarity with the local area and the ability to navigate effectively are crucial for this role. Experience in a similar position within an international organization is advantageous.
Languages: Proficiency in English and Ukrainian is mandatory for this position. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not required.
Additional Notes: This is a fixed-term contract position with a duration of 2 years. The role may require temporary relocation to Warsaw, Poland, and the EBRD may allow eligible candidates to work from Ukraine under certain circumstances. The position is full-time, and employees are expected to work in the office 50% of the time.
