Job Overview:
The Nutrition coordinator" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Area Coordinator will oversee the management, coordination, implementation, and quality assurance of all nutrition projects supported by UNICEF and WFP. This includes programs such as CMAM (Community-based Management of Acute Malnutrition) and MIYCN (Maternal, Infant, and Young Child Nutrition). The coordinator will ensure that projects are implemented effectively, budgets are managed properly, donor requirements are met, and project targets are achieved. Additionally, the coordinator will act as the Area Coordinator and the primary representative of Relief International in the county, providing strategic leadership and support for all operations in the area. This role requires a strong focus on project management, stakeholder engagement, and compliance with organizational standards and donor guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of the Nutrition Area Coordinator include leading the planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of all WFP- and UNICEF-funded projects and nutrition activities. The coordinator will ensure that project activities align with approved proposals and organizational standards, oversee daily operations for timely and high-quality service delivery, and monitor project progress against targets. They will also manage project budgets, conduct monthly Budget Versus Actual (BVA) reviews, track expenditures, prepare forecasts, and ensure compliance with donor requirements. The coordinator will prepare high-quality donor reports, maintain communication with stakeholders, and support donor visits and audits. Furthermore, they will serve as the senior representative of Relief International in the county, facilitating coordination among various departments, engaging with local authorities, and ensuring compliance with safety and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security-policies" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security policies. The coordinator will also be responsible for data collection, analysis, and reporting of project indicators, promoting evidence-based decision-making, and ensuring compliance with humanitarian principles and organizational policies.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, Public Health, Health Sciences, or a related field, with a Master’s degree considered an advantage. A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in managing nutrition and food security programs funded by WFP, UNICEF, or other institutional donors is required. Candidates should demonstrate experience in project coordination, representation, and team management, as well as strong skills in managing donor-funded programs, budgets, and reporting requirements. Experience working with government health and nutrition structures and humanitarian coordination mechanisms is essential, and experience in remote management and emergency response programming is highly desirable.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, Public Health, Health Sciences, or a related field. A Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is considered an added advantage, enhancing the candidate's qualifications for the role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in managing nutrition and food security programs, particularly those funded by WFP, UNICEF, or other institutional donors. Candidates should have demonstrated experience in project coordination, representation, and team management, as well as a strong background in managing donor-funded programs and compliance with reporting requirements.

Languages:
