Job Overview:
The Log/Admin Manager will oversee the support departments for the Emergency Preparedness and Response (EP&R) team and ensure the coordination of Emergency Rapid Response Mechanism (ERRM) operations within the ERRM consortium. The EP&R team is deployed for up to two months in remote areas to respond to alerts such as floods, epidemics, and IDP influxes. The Log/Admin Manager will coordinate the logistics, administration, and HR processes of the deployable teams, each led by a Log/Admin Supervisor. This role will serve as the link between the teams and the coordination office in Juba, ensuring that necessary tools, standard operating procedures (SOPs), policies, and guidelines are developed and revised to maintain flexibility and control for the EP&R program. The position requires a proactive approach to managing resources and responding to dynamic situations in the field.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate logistics, administration, and HR processes for the EP&R team and ERRM operations.
  • Develop and revise necessary tools, SOPs, policies, and guidelines for the EP&R program.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the EP&R teams and the coordination office in Juba.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration among different departments and teams.
  • Manage the deployment of teams to remote areas in response to emergencies.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of logistics and administrative processes.
  • Provide training and support to team members on logistics and administrative procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with SI's policies and procedures in all operations.
  • Adapt to changing situations and emergencies while maintaining a long-term strategic perspective. 1
  • Participate in the planning and execution of emergency response activities.

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector.
  • At least 3-4 years of experience in similar positions, preferably within an NGO.
  • Familiarity with SI processes and tools; prior experience with SI or a similar NGO is essential.
  • Proven experience working with emergency teams or in volatile/remote contexts.
  • Strong remote management skills.
  • Critical and practical thinking abilities, with a capacity to adapt to changing situations.
  • Excellent organizational and priority management skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and timely across departments.

Educational Background:
A relevant degree in management, logistics, humanitarian studies, or a related field is preferred. Additional certifications in logistics or emergency management would be advantageous.

Experience:
Candidates should possess a minimum of 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with specific experience in logistics and administration roles. Experience in emergency response settings and remote management is highly desirable, as is familiarity with the operational challenges faced in humanitarian contexts.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in Arabic is considered an asset, enhancing communication capabilities in the field.

Additional Notes:
This position is a short-term contract with an expected duration of 4 months, starting as soon as possible. The role is based in Juba, with frequent travel to field locations. The salary is competitive, starting from EUR 2100 gross per month, plus a monthly per diem of USD 70
  • SI covers accommodation costs and travel expenses. The organization implements a work-break system, allowing for 7 working days off every three months, along with an additional rest day for each month worked. Expatriates receive a comprehensive insurance package covering healthcare expenses, including medical, surgical, dental, and repatriation costs. Living conditions in the field can be challenging, and candidates should be prepared for basic living arrangements. In Juba, accommodations include shared guesthouses with other international staff, providing essential amenities.
