The internship duration is typically between three months to one year, allowing interns to immerse themselves in the organization's work and contribute meaningfully to ongoing projects.
Duties and Responsibilities: Interns will be involved in a range of duties that include:
Programme/Project Management: Gaining a comprehensive understanding of the TC programme's delivery, including project design, planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. Interns will participate in on-the-job training to learn about the various components of project management within the TC framework.
Knowledge Management: Assisting the Programme Management Officer in preparing achievement reports for selected projects. Interns will gain hands-on experience in drafting success stories and managing project-related information on platforms such as PCMF and AIPS.
Administrative Support: Providing support in the organization of meetings, workshops, and other events related to the TC programme.
Research and Analysis: Conducting research on relevant topics and contributing to the development of reports and presentations.
Collaboration: Working closely with other team members and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination of activities.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in management, social sciences, science and technology, or international relations. Additionally, they should have experience in compiling, processing, and reporting information using databases. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 2010 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential, as these are the standard tools used by the IAEA. Excellent oral and written command of English is mandatory, while a good command of spoken and written Spanish is considered an asset. Knowledge of other official IAEA languages, such as Arabic, Chinese, French, and Russian, is also advantageous.
Educational Background: Candidates must be at least 20 years old and have completed a minimum of three years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards their first degree. They may apply up to one year after completing their bachelor's, master's, or doctorate degree. It is important to note that candidates must not have previously participated in the IAEA's internship programme.
Experience: The internship is aimed at individuals who are currently pursuing or have recently completed their university degrees. Therefore, relevant experience in academic or professional settings related to the fields of management, social sciences, science and technology, or international relations is beneficial but not mandatory.
