Job Overview:
In the role of Partnerships Consultant, you will be instrumental in supporting the WFP’s Ukraine Country Office in building and managing partnerships and mobilizing resources across critical areas such as emergency response, early recovery, agricultural mine action, social protection, and school feeding initiatives. This position requires close collaboration with various teams, including program, budget, and supply chain, to effectively communicate WFP’s results and needs to potential donors. The position is vital in the context of the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, where the war has severely impacted security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">food security and displaced millions. Your contributions will directly influence the effectiveness of WFP’s response to the crisis, ensuring that humanitarian assistance reaches those in need.

Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Partnerships Consultant, your primary duties will include:
  • Supporting partnerships management by developing partnership goals and strategies with assigned partners, implementing these through annual work plans, and facilitating new collaboration areas.
  • Coordinating input from technical leads and internal stakeholders to respond to partnership inquiries received by the Country Office.
  • Assisting in the development of proposals, donor reports, investment cases, and value propositions to grow existing partnerships and attract new donors.
  • Conducting intelligence gathering and data analysis to collect and analyze information about donor interests and humanitarian policies, informing engagement plans for each prospect and donor.
  • Collaborating with the Communications Team to create and implement visibility plans for each donor.
  • Providing strategic, logistical, and programmatic support to the Partnerships Team and other WFP staff on key priority partnerships, raising awareness of WFP Ukraine’s objectives and priorities.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess:
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with strong drafting and reporting abilities.
  • Knowledge of public affairs, donor strategies, and funding policies.
  • A self-motivated attitude with the ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a culturally and socially sensitive approach to collaboration with diverse partners.
  • The ability to adapt professionally and effectively in challenging environments, working inclusively within a multicultural team.

Educational Background:
Candidates should have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, political science, public or business administration, economics, public relations, communications, or related fields. An advanced degree in one of these areas is preferred, as it may provide a deeper understanding of the complexities involved in humanitarian partnerships and resource mobilization.

Experience:
A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in an international organization focused on partnerships and resource mobilization is required. This experience should include proposal writing and donor reporting, demonstrating a solid understanding of the processes involved in securing funding and managing donor relationships.

Languages:
Fluency in English (level C) is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders and partners.

This position is classified as a Consultancy level I role within the Partnerships Unit of WFP Ukraine. The duty station is Kyiv, and the contract duration is for 11 months.
