Job Overview: The Project & Innovation Support Analyst position is situated within the Bureau for Policy and Programme Support (BPPS) of UNDP, specifically in the Digital, AI and Innovation (DAI) Hub. This role is pivotal in facilitating the implementation of high-impact projects that enhance digital capacities and integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into governance and development practices. The analyst will provide essential project management support, ensuring that projects are executed effectively and align with UNDP's strategic goals. The position requires a blend of analytical and coordination skills to foster synergy across various project components and enhance visibility of outcomes. The analyst will also engage in data analysis, stakeholder engagement, and knowledge management to support the DAI Hub's initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure Project and Management Support: The analyst will support the planning and implementation of DAI Hub initiatives by providing analytical and coordination inputs that enhance delivery and overall impact. This includes contributing to the development of project management approaches, coordinating project implementation in line with work plans, and maintaining project documentation. The analyst will also assist in project closure processes, ensuring that all deliverables are consolidated and documented according to UNDP guidelines.
Ensure Data Analysis, Dashboards and Strategic Insights: The analyst will analyze project and financial performance data to identify trends and opportunities for enhancing delivery. They will design and develop data-driven dashboards to enable real-time performance tracking and support management in aligning resources with delivery priorities. The role involves translating data into structured insights and supporting project reviews and performance assessments.
Build Stakeholder Engagement and Facilitate Knowledge Management: The analyst will coordinate communication with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project implementation. They will contribute to organizing workshops and knowledge-sharing initiatives, document project activities, and participate in efforts to strengthen internal collaboration and learning. The incumbent may also perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the office.
Required Qualifications: The position requires an advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in Management, Business Administration, International Management, Innovation, Economics, or a related field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the aforementioned areas, combined with an additional two years of qualifying experience, will be considered. Applicants with a master’s degree are not required to have professional work experience, while those with a bachelor’s degree must have a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in project support, business analysis, management, and innovation support. Experience in innovation, process improvement, and developing analytical tools is advantageous.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in relevant fields such as Management, Business Administration, International Management, Innovation, or Economics. A first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in these areas, along with two years of relevant experience, is also acceptable. This educational background ensures that candidates have the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to perform effectively in the role.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience for candidates with a bachelor’s degree. For those with a master’s degree, no prior work experience is necessary. Relevant experience includes project support, business analysis, management, and innovation support. Demonstrated experience in innovation, process improvement, and developing dashboards or analytical tools is considered an asset. Candidates should also have experience working in international and multi-stakeholder environments, as well as supporting project planning and coordination processes.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Additionally, working knowledge of another official UN language is advantageous, as it enhances communication and collaboration within the diverse international context of UNDP's operations.
