Job Overview:

The intern will be involved in various aspects of internal communications, which may include the design and dissemination of materials, promoting events and HR campaigns, and contributing to the onboarding process of new staff members. The role requires creativity and an understanding of effective communication strategies to engage staff and enhance the overall internal communication landscape. The intern will also have the opportunity to work closely with the HRMS team to align communication efforts with organizational branding and messaging, ensuring that all materials are consistent and effective in reaching the intended audience.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern's daily responsibilities will vary based on their background and skills, but will generally include: assisting in the design and dissemination of internal communications materials such as announcements, digital flyers, and updates for the intranet; supporting the promotion of events, trainings, and HR campaigns organized by the HRMS; contributing to the introduction of new staff members through internal communication channels; helping to adapt and disseminate global HR messages tailored for ECA staff; ensuring that all communication materials align with ECA HRMS branding guidelines; monitoring staff engagement with communications and proposing improvements; researching and suggesting creative approaches to enhance internal communications; and assisting with content formatting, simple visual design, or media creation using available tools.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). Additionally, a background in communication, graphic design, and content creation is desirable, as these skills will enhance the intern's ability to contribute effectively to the team.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes either enrollment in or completion of a graduate program or the final year of a bachelor's degree program. Candidates with degrees in communication, graphic design, or related fields will be particularly well-suited for this internship, as these areas of study provide the necessary skills for effective internal communication and content creation.

Experience:
While specific prior experience is not mandated, any relevant experience in communications, graphic design, or content creation will be beneficial. Interns are expected to demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt, as well as the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Previous internships or volunteer work in similar fields can enhance a candidate's application.

Languages:
Fluency in English is required for this internship, as it is one of the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Knowledge of French, which is another official UN language, is considered an advantage.
