Job Overview:
The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position is located within the Organization Development Unit (ODU) of the Human Resources Management Section (HRMS) at ECA. The internship is designed to provide practical experience and exposure to the workings of the United Nations, particularly in the area of human resources management. Interns will work under the direct supervision of the Senior Staff Development Assistant and will be involved in various tasks that support the overall mission of ECA. The internship is expected to last for six months, during which interns will engage in activities that enhance their understanding of HR processes and contribute to the development of HR initiatives. Interns will have the opportunity to assist in learning needs verification, monitor training programs, and support the design of HR dashboards, among other responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will have a diverse set of responsibilities that may include: assisting in the verification of learning needs for 2027 by developing surveys and collecting data; monitoring and updating the O-Induction programme; tracking attendance for language courses at the language center; contributing to the design and improvement of HR dashboards by organizing and presenting HR-related statistical information; supporting administrative tasks related to ongoing HR projects; assisting with reporting requirements for mandatory training and performance management; supporting logistics for learning programmes and workshops; drafting internal communications and training announcements; compiling periodic and post-training reports; and performing additional tasks as assigned by the head of the unit. The role is dynamic and will adapt to the intern's background and skills, providing a comprehensive learning experience.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria at the time of application: (a) be enrolled in or have completed a first degree or graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or (b) be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent). An academic background in adult education, human resources management, or management studies is desirable. Candidates should demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this internship includes being enrolled in or having completed a first degree or graduate programme. Candidates should ideally have a focus in fields related to human resources, management, or adult education. This educational foundation will help interns understand the complexities of human resources management and contribute effectively to the tasks assigned during the internship.

Experience:
While prior work experience is not mandatory for this internship, any relevant experience in human resources, administration, or related fields will be considered an asset. Interns are encouraged to highlight any past work experiences, volunteer roles, or academic projects that demonstrate their skills and competencies relevant to the position.

Languages:
Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship, as it is one of the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Knowledge of French, another UN official language, is considered an advantage and may enhance the candidate's application. Proficiency in additional languages can also be beneficial in a multicultural work environment.
