Job Overview:
The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position at the UNDP Seoul Policy Centre (USPC) offers a unique opportunity for final-year undergraduate students, graduate students, and recent graduates to gain direct exposure to UNDP's work in international development and multilateral cooperation. The intern will support the Centre's private sector engagement and development initiatives, focusing on building partnerships, conducting research, and assisting in the design and implementation of programs aimed at achieving the SDGs. The role also includes responsibilities related to communication, advocacy, and outreach, particularly in promoting private sector involvement in development efforts. This internship is designed to provide valuable technical knowledge and experience in the field of international development, while also contributing to the Centre's mission of facilitating innovative development cooperation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will assist in various duties, primarily focusing on private sector engagement and development work (60% of the role). Responsibilities include supporting the building and strengthening of partnerships between the Republic of Korea (ROK), UNDP, and developing countries, conducting research on private sector engagement issues, assisting in the design and implementation of the SDG Partnership country-support programme, and supporting the organization of UNDP meetings and events. Additionally, the intern will contribute to communication and outreach efforts (25% of the role), which involve producing web and social media content, digital materials, and advocacy materials. Cross-cutting tasks (15% of the role) include taking records of events, supporting outreach activities, maintaining relevant files and databases, and performing administrative tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme, be in the final academic year of a first university degree programme, have recently graduated with a university degree, or be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program. The field of study should be related to international development, international relations, sociology, political science, public administration, economics, commerce, business administration, marketing, or equivalent. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with social media and creative design tools are also required.

Applicants must be enrolled in a relevant degree program or have recently graduated, ensuring they possess the necessary academic foundation to contribute effectively to the internship.

Experience:
The internship is designed for individuals who are either final-year students or recent graduates, thus requiring no prior professional experience. However, a demonstrated interest in international development and familiarity with research and analytical tasks is beneficial. The intern should possess good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, particularly under tight deadlines.

Languages:
Fluency in written and spoken English and Korean is mandatory for this position. Additionally, proficiency in other UN languages is considered an asset, enhancing the intern's ability to communicate and collaborate in a diverse international environment.

Additional Notes:
The internship is unpaid, but a monthly stipend will be provided in accordance with UNDP policy. Interns are responsible for their own expenses, including travel, accommodation, and visa arrangements. The internship is available exclusively to individuals with the legal right to reside and work in South Korea. Interns are expected to work full-time, although some flexibility may be allowed for educational commitments. They will accrue leave at a rate of 1.5 days per month and will receive off-days on official UN holidays in South Korea. Interns are not eligible for employment with UNDP during the internship period and must provide proof of health insurance coverage.
