Job Overview:
The MHPSS Programme Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the integration and delivery of Mental Health and psychosocial-support" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) interventions across UNFPA’s implementing partners and sub-grantees in Myanmar. This position is vital in the context of Myanmar's ongoing humanitarian crisis, where mental health issues are prevalent due to conflict and displacement. The analyst will provide technical assistance, conduct monitoring visits, and facilitate training to enhance the quality of MHPSS programming. The role involves collaboration with GBV and SRH Programme Analysts to ensure that MHPSS services are effectively integrated into broader health and protection frameworks. The analyst will also contribute to evidence generation and knowledge management, ensuring that MHPSS initiatives are responsive to the needs of the most vulnerable populations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The MHPSS Programme Analyst will be responsible for a range of tasks, including:

• Supporting UNFPA’s MHPSS Programme by conducting regular technical visits to UNFPA-supported facilities, monitoring the implementation of MHPSS interventions, and providing ongoing technical support to implementing partners.
• Conducting capacity needs assessments among implementing partners and sub-grantees to identify gaps in MHPSS services and facilitating training on Psychological First Aid and Psychosocial Support.
• Promoting the use of international standards in MHPSS programming by orienting partners on the IASC Guidelines for MHPSS in Emergency Settings.
• Compiling inputs from implementing partners for monitoring and reporting purposes, contributing to national-level documentation and sharing lessons learned.
• Maintaining networks with MHPSS staff across various organizations to promote coherence and identify needs.
• Providing direct MHPSS support to UNFPA’s implementing partner staff and other UN staff as required.
• Conducting periodic supervision sessions with frontline workers to ensure quality service delivery.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced degree in clinical psychology, clinical social work, or mental health. They should have at least 2 years of experience in community-based psychosocial support interventions and humanitarian response. Knowledge of the IASC Guidelines on MHPSS in Emergency Settings is essential, along with strong training and mentoring skills. Familiarity with the UN system in Myanmar and its engagement with local counterparts on MHPSS issues is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to UNFPA's values and possess strong interpersonal skills to work effectively in diverse socio-cultural environments.

Educational Background:
An advanced degree in clinical psychology, clinical social work, or mental health is required for this position. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of mental health issues and providing effective support in humanitarian settings.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in community-based psychosocial support interventions, humanitarian response, and training or coaching. Candidates should have a proven track record of working in challenging environments and demonstrate the ability to adapt to changing circumstances while maintaining high standards of service delivery.

Languages:
Proficiency in English and Myanmar languages is mandatory for this role. Additionally, fluency in other ethnic languages such as Shan, Karen, Kachin, or Rohingya is considered an asset, as it enhances communication with diverse communities in Myanmar.

Additional Notes:
This is a full-time position for a duration of 6 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability.
