Job Overview: The ICT Associate position at UNOPS Myanmar is crucial for ensuring the secure and effective delivery of ICT services in alignment with UNOPS rules and frameworks. The role involves supporting the implementation of ICT strategies, overseeing infrastructure and systems management, and providing technical guidance to enhance service quality and user satisfaction. The ICT Associate will work closely with the ICT Senior Officer to deliver first-level support to users, manage Help Desk services, and ensure the smooth operation of ICT systems. This position is integral to maintaining operational reliability and enhancing the overall user experience within the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities: The ICT Associate will be responsible for implementing ICT and operational strategies compliant with UNOPS regulations, providing fast and effective user support, advising on IT and systems planning, and contributing to the development of ICT standards. Key responsibilities include maintaining an inventory of ICT assets, ensuring effective functioning of hardware, overseeing the acquisition of supplies, and providing consulting services for project implementation activities. The role also involves maintaining network connectivity, monitoring performance, safeguarding data integrity, and supporting business continuity measures. Additionally, the ICT Associate will facilitate training sessions, participate in knowledge-sharing initiatives, and conduct research on ICT-related topics.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a secondary school diploma (or equivalent) with 6 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in any discipline with 2 years of relevant experience. Relevant globally recognized ICT professional certificates are desired but not mandatory. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a strong understanding of ICT operations, asset management, and service delivery in a client-focused environment.
Educational Background: A secondary school diploma with extensive experience in ICT or a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline is required. Candidates with additional qualifications in information technology or related fields will be preferred. Relevant professional certifications in ICT are also desirable, indicating a commitment to ongoing professional development and expertise in the field.
Experience: The position requires relevant experience in information technology, particularly in using office software packages (MS Office 2010 or newer), Active Directory management, and managing Windows servers and network infrastructure. Experience working in multicultural environments or within UN system organizations in developing countries is highly desirable, as is experience in development or humanitarian contexts, which will enhance the candidate's ability to navigate the complexities of the role effectively.

Additional Notes: This position is classified at the Associate level (ICS 06) and is offered as an Individual Contractor Agreement (ICA) under the LICA - Support - Regular contract type.
