Job Overview:
The Associate Director, Prospect Research & Management (PRM) plays a crucial role within the External Relations’ Business Operations & Analytics team, leading the PRM team to support IRC’s funding sustainability. This senior leadership position involves reporting directly to the Vice President of Business Operations & Analytics and shaping team strategies that align with organizational goals. The Associate Director is responsible for developing actionable research plans that contribute to high-value fundraising strategies, ensuring that the outputs of the PRM team directly inform organizational decision-making. The role requires building and managing strategic relationships with fundraising leadership and driving continuous improvement across the team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a commitment to fostering an inclusive team culture while managing the PRM team budget effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of the Associate Director include partnering with the VP and senior fundraising leadership to co-develop PRM's annual and long-term strategy, leading high-value research initiatives, and overseeing the production of confidential profiles on high-net-worth individual (HNWI) donors. The Associate Director will translate strategic goals into actionable research plans, ensuring alignment with fundraising strategies across multiple pillars. They will also build and manage relationships with fundraising leadership, shape team strategy and metrics, drive innovation in research methodologies, and oversee the management of the team’s resources. Additionally, the Associate Director will lead cross-functional research initiatives, ensure clear communication between PRM and internal partners, and provide line management to team members, promoting inclusive practices.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree, with a Master’s degree strongly preferred. They should have expert research and database management skills, particularly with Salesforce, and the ability to lead cross-functional problem-solving efforts. Strong analytical skills are essential for interpreting complex data into strategic insights that support organizational decision-making. Proficiency in PRM subscription tools, internet research, and fundraising software is required, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills to drive strategic messaging and ensure alignment with organizational priorities.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree is required for this position, with a Master’s degree being strongly preferred. The educational background should ideally include studies related to research methodologies, data analysis, or a relevant field that supports the responsibilities of the role.

Experience:
The position requires strong experience in applying quantitative and qualitative analysis to non-profit fundraising strategies, with a proven track record in multiple markets. Candidates should have experience in driving innovation in tool use and mentoring others in technical development. Familiarity with relational databases, preferably Salesforce, is essential, along with the ability to lead protocol development and ensure adherence to best practices across the team.
