Job Overview:
The Logistics and Warehouse Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the logistics operations under the guidance of the Logistics Manager and Field Coordinator. This position is essential for ensuring the efficient management of the warehouse, which contains a diverse range of project materials and equipment. The assistant will be responsible for various logistical services, including the management of inventory, tracking of supplies, and ensuring that all materials are received and issued accurately. The role requires a proactive approach to managing high-volume workflows and maintaining accurate records, which are vital for the smooth operation of humanitarian efforts in the region. The assistant will also be involved in fleet management and will need to collaborate closely with the Field Coordinator to optimize inventory levels and minimize waste.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Logistics and Warehouse Assistant will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including but not limited to: assisting in the submission of weekly humanitarian cargo movement requests to the relevant cluster; supporting fleet management and drivers’ orientation; verifying the quantities of goods delivered and inspecting them for damage; preparing and maintaining records concerning the receipt and issuance of materials; assisting the logistics officer with haulage inspection and dispatch of goods; updating computer inventory control records; performing periodic physical inventory spot checks and reconciling them with inventory records; assisting in determining proper inventory levels, ordering points, and ordering quantities; liaising with the Field Coordinator to minimize inventory and eliminate obsolete items; tracking the usage of supplies and reporting any incidents of loss or damage; and performing any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a BS/BA degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Estate Management, or a related field, along with 1-3 years of relevant experience. Familiarity with donor-funded procurement rules and regulations is considered an advantage, as is experience using inventory management software. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate success in multicultural environments, showcasing their ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Engineering, or Estate Management is required for this position. This educational background provides the foundational knowledge necessary for understanding logistics and warehouse management principles, as well as the operational aspects of humanitarian aid delivery.

Experience:
The position requires 1-3 years of relevant experience in logistics, warehouse management, or a related field. Candidates should have a proven track record of working in environments that require attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Experience in humanitarian settings or with donor-funded projects is highly desirable.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory for this position, as effective communication is crucial in a multicultural work environment. Additional language skills may be considered an asset, particularly if they are relevant to the local context or the populations served by the organization.

Additional Notes:
This position is based in Konduga, Borno State, Nigeria, and is expected to be full-time. The expected hiring salary range for this role is indexed to USD 5,440 - 7,000 for annual gross salary, which includes basic pay and allowances.
