Job Overview:
The consultant will play a crucial role in producing a comprehensive report that articulates the private sector's role in enhancing education outcomes. This report will outline the connections between improved education and economic growth, identify entry points for private sector engagement, and recommend strategies for public-private collaboration. The consultant will work towards ensuring that every child and adolescent has access to quality education, focusing on key transitions in their learning journey. The report is expected to be launched in the first quarter of 2027, making it imperative for the consultant to deliver high-quality work that aligns with UNICEF's strategic goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will be responsible for conducting thorough research and analysis to produce a report that highlights the linkages between education outcomes and economic growth. They will identify practical ways for the private sector to engage in education, recommend approaches for strengthening public-private collaboration, and ensure that the report is evidence-based and actionable. The consultant will also be involved in project management, coordinating with various stakeholders, and ensuring timely delivery of the report. Additionally, they will participate in advocacy efforts and the launch event for the report, engaging with thought leaders and partners in the education and private sectors.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree in relevant fields such as Education policy, International development, Economics, Public policy, Business administration, or Social sciences with a focus on education or development. A proven track record of at least 8 years in writing, editing, and managing high-quality reports for international audiences is essential. Experience in engaging with private sector stakeholders is also required, along with strong project management skills and the ability to work independently.

Educational Background:
A Master's degree is required, with preferred disciplines including Education policy, International development, Economics/development economics, Public policy or public administration, Business administration, and Social sciences with an education or development focus. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of education systems and the role of private sector engagement.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience, particularly in writing and managing reports for international audiences. Experience in engaging with private sector stakeholders and familiarity with global education agendas is highly desirable. The consultant should also have a strong understanding of private sector engagement in education, including corporate social responsibility (CSR), public-private partnerships (PPPs), and educational technology (EdTech).

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, while knowledge of another official UN language such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish is considered an asset. This linguistic capability is important for effective communication and collaboration with diverse stakeholders in the education sector.
