Job Overview:
The MHPSS Specialist position is crucial for the Mental Health and psychosocial-support" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) component of Humanity & Inclusion's interventions in Palestine. This role involves ensuring the technical quality, coherence, and coordination of MHPSS activities across the program, which is particularly important as the organization expands its activities in the West Bank. The MHPSS Specialist will work to harmonize approaches, tools, and processes between Gaza and the West Bank, ensuring consistency in program implementation. Additionally, the position will play a significant role in preparing for the program's transition to the regional office, ensuring continuity of technical leadership and knowledge transfer. The MHPSS Specialist will report to the Technical Head of Program and will be responsible for providing support and technical leadership to MHPSS teams, ensuring the integration of MHPSS across health and education interventions.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The MHPSS Specialist will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:

• Ensure the technical quality and coherence of MHPSS activities across the program.
• Provide technical support and training to MHPSS teams in both Gaza and the West Bank.
• Collaborate with the Area Manager, Project Managers, and other technical officers to ensure the integration of MHPSS into health and education programs.
• Conduct multi-sectorial assessments to identify the needs of individuals with mental health and psychosocial issues.
• Support the harmonization of approaches and tools between Gaza and the West Bank.
• Contribute to the preparation and support of the program's transition to the regional structure.
• Engage with external partners, local authorities, and health structures to promote MHPSS initiatives.
• Report to the Technical Head of Program and maintain functional management of MHPSS teams.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess the following qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years of overall professional experience in the field of MHPSS, with at least 3 years of experience in emergency response in conflict-affected countries.
• A Master's degree in psychology, preferably in clinical psychology, or a related field.
• Training in evidence-based therapeutic approaches for trauma, stress, and mental health issues in emergency contexts.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the IASC Mental Health and Psychosocial Support in Emergency Settings guidelines and associated documents.
• Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills are essential for effective collaboration and communication.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master's degree in psychology, with a preference for clinical psychology or a related field. This advanced degree is essential to ensure that the candidate has the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to address mental health and psychosocial issues effectively, particularly in emergency contexts.

Experience:
The position requires at least 5 years of overall professional experience in the field of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS), including a minimum of 3 years of experience specifically in emergency response within conflict-affected countries. This level of experience is crucial for understanding the complexities and challenges faced in such environments and for implementing effective MHPSS interventions.

Languages:
Fluency in oral and written English is mandatory for this position, as it is essential for communication and reporting. Additionally, proficiency in Arabic is considered a strong asset, as it will facilitate interactions with local populations and stakeholders in the region.

Additional Notes:
The position is open to both international and national candidates. For Jordanian applicants, a national contract with a local package will be offered. For international candidates, the contract will be for 6 months starting from August 20, 2026, based in Jordan. The international contract includes various benefits such as unemployment insurance for EU nationals, a pension scheme, medical coverage with a 50% employee contribution, and repatriation insurance paid by Humanity & Inclusion. The gross monthly salary starts at 2757€, with a net per diem of 640€ paid in the field. There is no hardship allowance for Jordan, and employees are entitled to 25 days of paid leave per year and 11 days of rest and recuperation (R&R) per year. The position is unaccompanied, and housing will be provided collectively by Humanity & Inclusion.
