Job Overview:
The position of Inspector - Team Leader within the Joint Intelligence and Security Division (JISD) is critical for maintaining the security and safety of NATO Headquarters. The JISD has two main missions: providing strategic intelligence to NATO decision-makers and ensuring the protection of NATO's personnel, information, and physical assets. The Inspector - Team Leader will supervise the Headquarters Security Force (HQSF) and lead the on-duty security team, which includes senior agents, agents, and external contractors. This role requires a proactive approach to incident management, ensuring that all security tasks are executed according to established standards and protocols. The incumbent will also be responsible for training and mentoring team members, fostering a professional and motivated work environment, and maintaining effective communication with key stakeholders at NATO HQ. Flexibility is essential, as the position may require working outside normal hours, including weekends and holidays, and may involve deployment abroad for missions as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Inspector - Team Leader include leading and supervising the on-duty HQ Security Team to ensure the security and safety of NATO HQ. This involves responding to and resolving incidents, reporting any security-related issues, and coordinating the deployment of HQSF personnel and contractors for daily operations and special events. The incumbent will also be responsible for training and developing a professional team, providing mentorship and guidance, and identifying opportunities for process improvements. Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with key members at NATO HQ is crucial for effective cooperation and service delivery. The role also includes performing any other related duties as assigned by management, ensuring that all instructions and objectives are communicated and implemented effectively by the team.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an educational qualification equivalent to higher secondary level and have at least six years of experience in a leadership role within a security, police, military, or security force environment, particularly in a multicultural setting. The incumbent should be experienced in the use of firearms and less-lethal force equipment, with the ability to pass regular shooting and physical tests. Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills are essential. Additionally, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in NATO's official languages, achieving at least an 'Advanced' level in one language and 'Intermediate' in the other.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a qualification equivalent to higher secondary education. This foundational education is essential for understanding the complexities of security management and leadership within a multinational organization like NATO.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of six years of relevant experience as a Team Leader in a security or police/military/security force environment. This experience should include middle management responsibilities and the ability to operate effectively in a multicultural environment, demonstrating a strong understanding of security protocols and procedures.

Languages:
Candidates must possess proficiency in NATO's official languages, specifically achieving a minimum of 'Advanced' level (V) in one language (English or French) and 'Intermediate' level (III) in the other. Additional Notes:
The successful applicant will be offered a definite duration contract of three years, with the possibility of an indefinite duration contract thereafter. If the candidate is seconded from a national administration of a NATO member state, a similar contract will be offered, subject to national authority agreement.
