Job Overview:
The Logistics Assistant position is crucial for supporting the training initiatives under the United Nations Department of Operational Support's Triangular Partnership Programme (TPP). This role involves ensuring that all logistical requirements for various training courses are met efficiently and effectively. The TPP aims to enhance peacekeeping capabilities through specialized training programs, including Engineering Project Management, Heavy Engineering Equipment Training, Explosive Hazard Awareness Training, and Field Medical Assistant Courses. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of project assets, processing requests from training teams, and liaising with vendors and partners to ensure smooth operations. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines, especially during the training period from October to December 2026.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Logistics Assistant will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including but not limited to: coordinating logistics requirements for all training courses, maintaining detailed records of TPP assets and stores, compiling requests for training materials, transport, and fuel, and submitting these requests for approval. The assistant will also provide training support by printing materials and recording training sessions. Additionally, the role involves assisting with customs processes for shipping TPP items from Cambodia to Thailand and establishing working relationships with relevant stakeholders, including the Cambodia National Centre for Peacekeeping Force Mine and ERW Clearance and staff at the training school. The Logistics Assistant will report directly to the TPP Team and the Programme representative at the training school, ensuring that all logistical aspects of the training are handled efficiently.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or an equivalent qualification, such as a technical or vocational certificate in logistics, transportation, supply management, business administration, or a related field. A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in supply chain management, contract management, or logistics support for training programs is required. Familiarity with customs processes for the shipment of goods is advantageous, as is previous experience working with the TPP. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a high school diploma or equivalent, with a preference for candidates who have completed technical or vocational training in logistics, transportation, supply management, or business administration. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of logistics and supply chain management in a training context.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in relevant fields such as supply chain management, logistics support, or contract management. Candidates should have a proven track record of managing logistics for training programs or similar initiatives, demonstrating their ability to handle the demands of the role effectively. Experience with customs processes and previous involvement with the TPP will be considered advantageous.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Khmer is required for this position, as these are the primary working languages for the role. Additionally, knowledge of French, which is one of the official languages of the United Nations, is beneficial. Proficiency in another official UN language would also be an advantage, enhancing communication within the diverse international environment of the United Nations.

Additional Notes:
The position is expected to last from September 28, 2026, to December 27, 2026, with the possibility of extension for up to one additional month to assist with the shipment of TPP items and closure activities. The role is full-time and involves working in both Thailand and Cambodia, specifically at the Training School for Multinational Peacekeeping Forces in Kampong Speu.
