Job Overview: The Graphic Design Assistant position is situated within the Publications & Conference Management Section (PCMS) of the Administration and Conference Management Division (ACMD) at UNECA. The role is pivotal in supporting the design and production of various visual materials for UN-sponsored activities, including major conferences, events, and campaigns. Duties and Responsibilities: The Graphic Design Assistant will undertake a variety of responsibilities, including:
Participating in initial meetings with clients to discuss design projects, including content, communication objectives, media options, and technical specifications.
Independently managing design assignments for high-priority UN-sponsored activities, conceptualizing and developing design proposals for client review.
Designing and producing infographics and data visualizations to communicate complex information clearly and engagingly.
Preparing all approved designs in electronic format for final review and printing, and reviewing color and print proofs as necessary.
Providing guidance and support throughout the project production process, coordinating with clients and relevant parties to ensure projects remain on schedule.
Assisting with data collection and analysis, as well as preparing presentations and reports for information sharing and decision-making.
Updating information materials such as web pages or brochures, and performing other related tasks as required.
