Job Overview:
The Emergency Response Project Coordinator will play a crucial role in the implementation of the 'Localised RRM' project in the Northwest region of Cameroon. Reporting directly to the NW Base Manager, the coordinator will oversee the quality of project execution, ensuring that all activities are planned and executed in a timely manner. This role involves engaging with beneficiaries to ensure their voices are heard and that accountability mechanisms are in place. The coordinator will also be responsible for internal and external coordination, representing DRC in various meetings and ensuring effective collaboration with local authorities, NGOs, and other stakeholders. The position requires a strong focus on monitoring and capacity building for local partners, ensuring compliance with grant agreements, and maintaining high standards of documentation and reporting. The coordinator will also support the development of new project proposals and contribute to the overall communication and visibility strategy of the project.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Emergency Response Project Coordinator will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to: planning and monitoring the timely implementation of project activities; organizing project kick-off and closing meetings; ensuring beneficiary engagement and accountability; facilitating internal and external coordination; representing DRC in meetings with local authorities and other organizations; managing project documentation for audits; providing technical oversight and quality assurance; coordinating capacity assessments and training for partners; ensuring compliance with grant agreements; maintaining communication with local partners; collecting lessons learned and best practices; supporting internal reporting and communication strategies; and assisting in budget monitoring and development. The coordinator will also work closely with the MEAL specialist to ensure effective planning and implementation of monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning activities.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess at least 5 years of experience in humanitarian work, with a minimum of 1 year of experience working with local national actors in emergency contexts. Experience in cash transfer programs and protection activities is considered an asset. The ideal candidate should demonstrate the ability to work under pressure, adapt to changing circumstances, and maintain a high level of professionalism in challenging environments. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, is required, along with strong oral and written communication skills and analytical abilities.

Educational Background:
A university degree (BAC+3/4) in Social Sciences, Economics, Rural Development, Project Management, or a related field is required for this position. This educational background will provide the necessary foundation for understanding the complexities of humanitarian work and project management.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the humanitarian sector, with at least 1 year specifically engaging with local national actors in emergency response or related projects. Candidates should have a proven track record of working effectively in high-pressure situations and adapting to rapidly changing environments.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, with expert-level proficiency required. Knowledge of French is considered an advantage, and familiarity with local languages, such as pidgin, will be viewed as an asset.

The position is full-time and based in Cameroon, specifically in the Northwest region. The role may involve significant travel to various project sites and requires a commitment to DRC's values and ethical guidelines.
