Duties and Responsibilities: The Security Assistant will have a comprehensive set of duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to: reviewing security threats and risks, compiling accurate reports on security incidents, and providing analyses to support decision-making. The role involves coordinating with local administration, security, and law enforcement authorities to ensure safe access for program delivery. The Security Assistant will assist in planning and conducting field missions, tracking staff, and performing security assessments. Additionally, the position requires preparing detailed security assessment reports, advising the Country Director on security risk management, and implementing security risk management measures in compliance with the United Nations Security Management System (UNSMS). The Security Assistant will also manage and maintain security equipment, monitor access control procedures, contribute to emergency planning documentation, identify training needs, and supervise other staff members to enhance their performance.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Security Assistant position must possess applied knowledge of security operations and technical processes. They should have experience supporting security operations and providing technical guidance to staff members. The role requires a strong understanding of security reporting according to corporate requirements, as well as the ability to analyze and interpret security-related information effectively. This experience should demonstrate the candidate's ability to handle security operations effectively and contribute to the safety of WFP staff and programs.
Languages: Proficiency in Arabic and English is mandatory for this position, as effective communication is essential in the role. Knowledge of French is considered desirable, as it may enhance collaboration with diverse stakeholders and improve operational effectiveness in the region.
