Job Overview: The National Laboratory Strategic Planning Implementation Officer will play a crucial role in providing technical and coordination support for the implementation of the National Laboratory Strategic Plan (2025-2030). This position will be stationed at the Department of Health (DOH) Office for Health Laboratories, representing the STRIDES initiative. The officer will be responsible for coordinating with various DOH hospitals, Centers for Health Development, and National Reference Laboratories to advance key initiatives related to laboratory governance, workforce development, and quality systems. The role involves monitoring implementation milestones, preparing policy and technical documents to aid decision-making for OHL leadership, and facilitating stakeholder consultations and progress reporting to the NLSP Steering Committee. Duties and Responsibilities: The key responsibilities of the National Laboratory Strategic Planning Implementation Officer include supporting the rollout of strategies and activities under the National Laboratory Strategic Plan (2025-2030). The officer will coordinate with the Council for Health and Development, DOH Hospitals, and National Reference Laboratories to implement initiatives focused on laboratory governance, workforce development, and quality systems. Additionally, the officer will assist in developing and monitoring indicators and milestones outlined in the NLSP implementation matrix. Preparing policy briefs, presentations, and documentation to support decision-making for OHL is also a critical duty. The officer will facilitate stakeholder consultations and progress reporting to the NLSP Steering Committee, support mid-term and terminal evaluations, and regularly report to the FHI 360 STRIDES project office to provide updates on project deliverables. Furthermore, the officer will represent STRIDES and FHI 360 at the OHL and perform other duties as assigned in support of STRIDES and OHL implementation.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, Public Health, or a related field. A minimum of 3 years of experience in health systems strengthening, project management, or laboratory programs is required. Knowledge of national laboratory policies, Quality Management Systems, and One Health principles is preferred.
