Job Overview: The position of Rechtsreferendar*in at the GIZ office in the Philippines and the Pacific involves supporting the office in addressing a diverse range of local, German, and international legal issues. Duties and Responsibilities: As a Rechtsreferendar*in, you will support the office in addressing a wide array of legal questions, particularly in contract law, procurement law, tax law, European law, corporate law, intellectual property rights, construction law, and labor law. Your responsibilities will include attending internal meetings and external appointments, participating in team meetings within the legal and insurance department, and independently managing suitable inquiries. You will also be in direct contact with clients, ensuring that their legal needs are met effectively and efficiently. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to navigate complex legal frameworks.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate will be a qualified and engaged legal trainee (Rechtsreferendar*in) with a strong interest in international law and development cooperation. Candidates should demonstrate a solid understanding of various legal disciplines, particularly those relevant to the GIZ's work. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment are essential. Additionally, candidates should possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in order to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders.
Educational Background: Candidates must be currently enrolled in a legal training program (Referendariat) and have completed their first state examination in law (Erstes Staatsexamen). The position is specifically designed for legal trainees who are seeking to fulfill their Wahlstation (elective stage) as part of their legal training.
Experience: While prior experience in international law or development cooperation is beneficial, it is not a strict requirement.
