Job Overview: The Assistant Information Management Officer will play a crucial role in strengthening the Protection Cluster referral mechanism in Ukraine. This position involves improving the functionality and field application of the Service Advisor tool, enhancing service mapping, and supporting partners in delivering safe and timely referrals. The successful candidate will contribute to better access to services for people affected by crises, improved data utilization, and stronger coordination among partners. The role requires collaboration with the Protection Cluster, led by the United NationsHigh Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), to ensure safe access to services and strengthen referral pathways for individuals at heightened protection risk, including internally displaced persons. The position is based in Kyiv, Ukraine, and includes travel to field locations, offered as a 6-month assignment, reporting to the Information Management Officer.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Assistant Information Management Officer will be responsible for several key tasks: strengthening and standardizing the Protection Cluster referral mechanism to ensure safe and principled referral pathways; improving the Service Advisor tool in collaboration with developers and partners to meet operational needs; supporting service mapping and coordination to maintain consistent and accurate information across regions; conducting field missions to assist partners, identify challenges, and enhance referral practices; developing guidance materials and standard operating procedures for referral systems; delivering training and capacity-building sessions to partners on referral tools and service mapping; supporting analysis, dashboards, and reporting to enhance the use of referral and service access data; and contributing to humanitarian planning processes with information management inputs on service access and coverage.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in information management, protection coordination, or humanitarian operations. They should have strong experience with data analysis, information management tools, and data visualization. Experience working with humanitarian partners, including local organizations and civil society, is essential. Proven ability to deliver training and support capacity building is also required. Additionally, candidates should have a university degree in information management, data management, humanitarian affairs, or a related field. Familiarity with tools such as Power BI and ArcGIS is considered an advantage.
