Job Overview:
The Finance Assistant position at UNICEF involves providing essential financial support to the office, particularly in monitoring and reporting on key financial aspects of the fundraising operations. The role requires close coordination with the Private Fundraising and Partnerships (PFP) team and entails critical activities related to Private Sector Fundraising (PSFR) at the country level. Responsibilities include reconciling contribution receipts between ERP systems and PSFR bank accounts, preparing monthly revenue reports, supporting the preparation and submission of work plans and budgets, and ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures. The Finance Assistant will play a vital role in resource mobilization efforts by preparing financial data and impact reports, thus contributing to the overall fundraising strategy of UNICEF in Brazil.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Finance Assistant will be responsible for monitoring income and expenditures against the annual workplan, ensuring accurate tracking and timely reporting to management. Key duties include contributing to resource mobilization by preparing financial data and analytical inputs, drafting Private Sector Fundraising budgets, monitoring fundraising contributions, managing reconciliation of donation income across systems, maintaining local bank accounts related to fundraising, and ensuring compliance with financial and audit standards. The role also involves leading monthly bank reconciliation processes, supporting contribution management processes, and performing additional financial operational tasks as required to support effective fundraising operations.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed secondary education, with university courses in Finance, Administration, or Accounting being highly desirable. A minimum of six years of work experience in accounting or finance is required, including at least three years in accounts receivable. Advanced skills in data analysis tools, Microsoft Excel, and Power BI are essential, along with fluency in the use of artificial intelligence tools. Experience in the finance unit of fundraising companies or institutions is considered an asset, as is knowledge of SAP Systems and skills in digitalizing financial tools.

Educational Background:
The position requires completion of secondary education as a minimum. However, candidates with university courses in Finance, Administration, or Accounting disciplines will be viewed favorably, as these qualifications are highly desirable for the role.

Experience:
The Finance Assistant should possess a minimum of six years of relevant work experience in the accounting or finance sector. This includes at least three years of experience specifically in accounts receivable, which is crucial for managing financial transactions and reporting accurately within the organization.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Portuguese is mandatory for this position. Additionally, advanced knowledge of Spanish will be considered an asset, enhancing communication capabilities within the diverse environment of UNICEF.
