Job Overview: The Online Volunteer position is part of the WHO Health Emergencies Programme (WHE), which is dedicated to preparing for and managing health emergencies that threaten global healthsecurity" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security. The role involves developing a branding kit for the Asia Pacific Community of Practice on Community Resilience and Protection (AP-CP-CoRP). This initiative aims to enhance community engagement and resilience in health emergencies, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in health responses. The volunteer will work closely with the CoP Secretariat and the Programme Area Manager to create visual assets that reflect the community's objectives and functionalities, ensuring that the branding kit is practical and user-friendly for non-designers.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Online Volunteer will be responsible for several key tasks:
Receiving a comprehensive briefing from the AP-CP-CoRP Secretariat regarding the Community of Practice concept, its scope, functions, and relevant branding guidelines.
Developing a branding kit that includes six logo variations tailored for different backgrounds, colors, and formats.
Creating a branding guidelines document that outlines typography, color palettes, imagery, icons, and other visual assets in PDF format.
Designing branded templates for various uses, including one PowerPoint presentation, two social media layout cards, and one template for digital posters intended for webinars and online events.
Submitting all final assets in a well-organized ZIP folder with clearly labeled subfolders for each deliverable group.
Ensuring that all outputs are practical, ready-to-use, and easily adaptable for personnel without specialized design skills. The timeline for the development process is proposed to span four weeks, with specific milestones for discussions, drafts, feedback, and final submissions.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for this position should possess strong graphic design skills, with proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite or similar tools. They should have a good understanding of branding principles and experience in creating branding kits or visual identity materials. Additionally, the ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders is essential. A background in public health or experience working with health organizations would be advantageous but is not mandatory.
Educational Background: A degree in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should have a solid foundation in design principles and practices, as well as experience in creating visual content for various platforms. Relevant coursework or certifications in branding and design would be beneficial.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have prior experience in graphic design, particularly in developing branding materials. Experience working with non-profit organizations or in the health sector is a plus, as it provides context for understanding the objectives of the WHO and the specific needs of the community of practice.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, as all communications and deliverables will be in English. Knowledge of additional languages spoken in the South-East Asia region would be considered an asset, as it may enhance the volunteer's ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
