Job Overview: The position of Consultant(e) National(e) Senior (e) en Génie Civil involves providing expert consultancy services in civil engineering for the UNDP's Governance, Peace, and Security Unit in Niger. Duties and Responsibilities: The Consultant(e) National(e) Senior (e) en Génie Civil will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Conducting detailed assessments of civil engineering projects, including feasibility studies and site evaluations.
Developing engineering designs and specifications that meet project requirements and adhere to UNDP standards.
Collaborating with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure timely and effective project delivery.
Providing technical guidance and support to local teams and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
Monitoring project progress and performance, identifying potential risks, and proposing mitigation strategies.
Preparing and presenting reports on project status, challenges, and recommendations to UNDP management and stakeholders.
Ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations in all engineering activities.
Engaging with local communities to gather input and feedback on project designs and implementations.
Contributing to capacity-building initiatives by sharing knowledge and best practices with local engineers and technicians.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a strong set of qualifications, including:
A recognized degree in civil engineering or a related field.
Professional certification or licensure in civil engineering is highly desirable.
Proven experience in civil engineering consultancy, particularly in the context of development projects.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative engineering solutions.
