Job Overview:
The HR Specialist position at FAO's Shared Services Centre in Budapest is a critical role that involves providing specialized support for the recruitment and selection processes of General Service staff, National Officers, and Affiliate Workforce. The HR Specialist will ensure that all recruitment activities adhere to FAO's rules and regulations, maintaining high standards of quality, transparency, and consistency in recruitment data and documentation. This position requires a proactive approach to managing the recruitment cycle, from developing job descriptions to facilitating interviews and managing contracts. The HR Specialist will work closely with hiring managers and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth and efficient recruitment process, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the Shared Services Centre.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The HR Specialist will be responsible for a wide range of tasks throughout the recruitment process, including: supporting the overall hiring plan for national and international affiliate workforce; developing and reviewing Terms of Reference for affiliate workforce; coordinating the publication of job vacancies; organizing and facilitating the selection process, including interviews; managing contracts in the Global Resource Management System (GRMS); supervising contract validity; providing administrative support for consultant payments; promoting a respectful work environment; facilitating knowledge exchange; assisting in performance evaluations; maintaining confidentiality; collaborating with hiring managers on vacancy announcements; handling position management actions; pre-screening applications; setting up interview panels; drafting selection reports; liaising with the Human Resources Officer; monitoring recruitment processes; organizing career fair participation; and performing other duties as required.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a completed high school diploma, with a university degree or technical diploma considered an asset. A minimum of two years of relevant administrative and HR support experience is required. Candidates should have a working knowledge of English at level C, strong familiarity with HR processes and documentation standards, and be a national of Hungary or a resident with a valid work permit. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate FAO core competencies such as results focus, teamwork, communication, building effective relationships, and knowledge sharing.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes at least a completed high school diploma. A university degree or technical diploma in a relevant field is advantageous and may enhance a candidate's application.

Experience:
The HR Specialist role requires a minimum of two years of relevant experience in administrative and HR support. This experience should include familiarity with HR processes, documentation standards, and the use of HR/ERP systems, which are essential for managing recruitment and selection effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization. Additional language skills may be beneficial but are not specified as requirements for this role.

Additional Notes:
The position offers a consultancy-based personal services agreement (PSA) contract, initially for 11 months with the possibility of extension. The HR Specialist is expected to be enthusiastic about working in an administrative support environment and must have the right to reside and work in Hungary at the time of application.
