Job Overview:
The General Service position is a temporary role located in Budapest, Hungary, within the ILO Decent Work Team/Country Office for Central and Eastern Europe. The incumbent will provide senior-level user support and oversee standard information and communications technology (ICT) support services during the absence of the Senior IT Assistant. This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including end-user assistance, managing active directory objects, maintaining office equipment, organizing shared drive data, supporting software deployment, and monitoring local and wide area networks. The position requires a strong understanding of ICT-related rules and regulations, and the incumbent is expected to contribute to the improvement of ICT services while ensuring compliance with established standards and guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide advanced knowledge and hands-on experience in the administration and support of Microsoft enterprise environments, including Microsoft Azure and Endpoint Manager for device management and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security policy enforcement. Manage and support Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive for Business, and SharePoint Online.
  • Liaise with the Internet Service Provider to report connectivity issues, monitor service performance, and ensure timely resolution of incidents.
  • Undertake various ICT support functions related to software and hardware deployment, shared drive data management, and end-user support.
  • Troubleshoot desktop and application-related problems, draft user guides, and provide training to end users.
  • Stay updated on ICT rules and propose improvements to work methods.
  • Manage user accounts and ensure compliance with licensing requirements.
  • Oversee the replacement and maintenance of ICT hardware and software.
  • Ensure efficient data organization and timely maintenance of file systems.

  • Act as the security focal point for the ILO Budapest office, monitoring compliance with UN security rules. 1
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have a minimum of six years of IT work experience in various support functions. They should possess excellent command of English and Hungarian languages. Knowledge of ICT security principles, operating systems, enterprise applications, and ITIL processes is essential. Candidates should demonstrate strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a multicultural environment. Familiarity with Microsoft Office and the ability to adapt quickly to new software and systems are also required.

Educational Background:
Completion of secondary school education is required, along with training in IT user support service areas. Additional certifications or training in relevant ICT fields would be advantageous.

Experience:
A minimum of six years of relevant IT work experience is required, with a focus on support functions. Candidates should have demonstrated experience in managing Microsoft enterprise environments and providing user support in a professional setting.

Languages:
Excellent command of English and Hungarian is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.

This is a short-term contract position, and the entry-level salary for this role is 11,499,000 HUF yearly.
