Job Overview:
The Online Volunteer position is designed for individuals who can support UN Women in conducting quantitative data analysis related to the SDG Gender Snapshot 2026 Report. This report is released annually in conjunction with the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). The role involves creating a database for a project focused on addressing inequalities between women and girls. The volunteer will work under the guidance of the Statistics Specialist and will be responsible for discussing and consolidating indicators and datasets related to gender and the SDGs. The analysis will involve identifying trends, patterns, and key findings regarding the status and progress of the SDGs from a gender perspective. The volunteer will also develop background notes and visualizations based on the findings, which will require a literature review and adherence to an agreed reporting plan. Regular updates on progress will be expected through weekly calls or email exchanges.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Online Volunteer will undertake several key responsibilities, including:
  • Discussing and consolidating indicators and datasets related to gender and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
  • Conducting thorough analysis of data to identify relevant trends, patterns, and key findings regarding the status and progress of SDGs from a gender perspective.
  • Developing background notes in accordance with the agreed reporting plan, which includes creating visualizations and narrative interpretations of findings based on literature reviews.
  • Collaborating with the project team to ensure that the data consolidation process is effective and efficient.
  • Providing regular updates on progress during weekly calls or through email exchanges, ensuring clear communication with the team.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Online Volunteer position should possess strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of gender issues and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). They should be proficient in data analysis and have experience with statistical software or tools. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate the ability to communicate findings effectively, both in writing and verbally. Educational Background:
