Job Overview: The consultant will work under the supervision of the Country Representative of ONU Femmes, closely collaborating with program and operations teams within the country office, implementation partners, and the Regional Office of ONU Femmes. The consultant's role is crucial in supporting the implementation of the economic empowerment of women (WEE) program, particularly in integrating the nexus of care economy and green transition into local development plans and financing. The consultant will produce a guide for this integration, organize validation workshops, provide technical support to pilot municipalities, and disseminate findings from the 'Care Snapshots' report. The position requires a proactive approach to engage with various stakeholders and ensure the successful execution of programmatic activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support municipalities in integrating the care economy and green transition nexus into local development and financing plans. Deliverables include producing a guide for integration, organizing a virtual validation workshop, providing technical support to at least three pilot municipalities, and assisting in the development of action plans for these municipalities to join the Global Alliance for Care.
Disseminate results from the 'Care Snapshots' report for Côte d'Ivoire by organizing a national virtual launch workshop and dialogue on the care economy in collaboration with the National Committee for the Care Economy. The consultant will also be responsible for submitting monthly progress reports, maintaining updated tracking of deliverables, conducting analyses of support work, and providing interim and final reports on activities conducted.
Required Qualifications: The consultant must possess a Master's degree or equivalent in economics, development economics, feminist economics, or a related field. They should have at least seven years of experience in development, particularly in promoting gender-sensitive economic policies and reforms. Experience in care economy analysis, both paid and unpaid, is essential, along with a proven track record in policy analysis, strategic planning, and innovative financing for development. Familiarity with gender-sensitive budgeting and experience within the UN system are advantageous.
Educational Background: A Master's degree or equivalent in economics, development economics, feminist economics, or a related field is required for this position. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of gender and economic policies and for effectively contributing to the organization's mission.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of seven years of relevant experience in the development sector, focusing on gender and economic empowerment. This includes experience in policy reform, care economy analysis, and strategic planning. Proven experience in working with diverse stakeholders and implementing gender-sensitive programs is essential.
Languages: Fluency in French is mandatory, along with at least a professional knowledge of English. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders.

Payment will be made upon the completion of deliverables, subject to ONU Femmes' approval. The consultant is responsible for obtaining their own medical insurance for the contract duration, which should include international coverage if applicable.
