Job Overview:
The ILO internship-programme" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Internship Programme offers a unique opportunity for talented individuals to engage with international labor issues and gain practical experience in their field of study. Interns will work within the Regional Programming Unit (RPU) at the ILO's Africa Regional Office (ROAF) in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire. The internship is designed to provide insights into the ILO's operations and its commitment to promoting decent work and social justice in Africa. Interns will be involved in various projects related to skills development, youth employment, and the implementation of Decent Work Country Programmes (DWCPs). This role is not intended to lead to permanent employment within the ILO, and candidates should not expect further job opportunities after the internship concludes.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will support the ILO’s Africa Skills Hub in implementing monitoring strategies, which include data collection, analysis, and reporting. They will assist in developing technical products related to skills and lifelong learning, collaborate with specialists on research, and draft sections of reports or briefs. Interns will also help monitor Decent Work Country Programmes, analyze budget proposals, and ensure compliance with ILO policies. Additional responsibilities include contributing to resource mobilization efforts, preparing periodic reports, drafting training materials, and providing general support to the RPU and Africa Skills Hub as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree in Economics, Management, Political Science, Social Sciences, or related fields. They should be enrolled in their final year of a graduate degree program or have completed such a program within the last year. Experience in data analysis, quantitative and qualitative research, and program management is advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate adaptability to a multicultural environment, possess strong communication skills, and show a commitment to learning and knowledge sharing.

Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this internship includes a university degree in relevant fields such as Economics, Management, Political Science, or Social Sciences. Candidates should either be in their final year of graduate studies or have graduated no more than one year prior to applying for the internship.

Experience:
Interns are expected to have some level of experience, particularly in data analysis and research. While specific years of experience are not mandated, familiarity with program management and quantitative and qualitative research methods will be beneficial for candidates. This experience can be gained through academic projects, previous internships, or relevant work experience.

Languages:
Fluency in either French or English is mandatory, both in oral and written forms. Knowledge of additional languages is considered an advantage, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate in a diverse work environment.

Additional Notes:
The internship is for a duration of 6 months, starting either on the 1st or 15th of the month. Interns will receive a monthly stipend based on the cost of living in Abidjan, unless they are receiving funding from another institution. Travel expenses to the duty station will be the responsibility of the intern. The ILO does not cover insurance costs for accidents or illnesses incurred during the internship, so candidates must ensure they have their own insurance coverage. Additionally, the ILO does not charge any fees during the recruitment process, and applicants should be cautious of fraudulent communications.
