Job Overview:
The Programme Coordination Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the management of Ending Violence Against Women (EVAW) interventions in both physical and digital public spaces. This position involves providing technical and coordination support, ensuring results-based monitoring, reporting, and knowledge management. The specialist will work under the supervision of the Programme Management specialist and the overall guidance of the Representative. The role includes monitoring results, documenting best practices, and facilitating learning opportunities. The Programme Coordination Specialist will also contribute to advocacy activities and strategic events, ensuring effective management of UN Women programs in the Country Cluster Office, particularly focusing on EVAW programming.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the EVAW Programme/Portfolio: Provide substantive inputs to program/project proposals, identify areas for intervention, support implementation, and lead the coordination of calls for proposals.
  • Guide Coordination with National Partners: Maintain relationships with national partners, review financial and narrative reports, and facilitate capacity building for partners.
  • Monitor and Report on the EVAW Programme: Monitor implementation progress, establish monitoring mechanisms, draft reports on program results, and provide inputs for donor reports.
  • Build Partnerships and Resource Mobilization: Identify funding opportunities, provide technical support for partnerships, and develop resource mobilization strategies.
  • Advocate and Facilitate Knowledge Management: Prepare social media assets, draft communications documents, develop background materials, and coordinate events and knowledge exchanges.
  • Perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a Master’s degree or equivalent in international relations, social sciences, human rights, gender/women's studies, international development, or a related field. A first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. A project/programme management certification is an added advantage. Candidates should possess strong writing, organizational, and analytical skills, as well as a good understanding of communications and partnership development.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have a Master’s degree or equivalent in relevant fields such as international relations, social sciences, human rights, gender/women's studies, or international development. A first-level university degree with additional qualifying experience may also be considered. A project/programme management certification would enhance a candidate's profile.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in development programme/project design, implementation, coordination, monitoring, evaluation, and donor reporting. Experience in addressing violence against women and its structural drivers, such as social norms and unpaid care work, is essential. Familiarity with knowledge management tools and experience in liaising with civil society organizations and public institutions are also required. Experience in advocacy and communications initiatives is desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in English, French, and Arabic is required for this position. Proficiency in these languages is essential for effective communication and collaboration within the role.
