The support from UNFPA is focused on its sequential strategic plans (SP 2018-2021; SP 2022-2025; and SP 2026-2029), emphasizing three transformative results: Zero preventable maternal deaths; zero unmet need for family planning; and zero gender-based violence and harmful practices. UNFPA provides medical reproductive health products and equipment across the country, focusing on health facilities in seven provinces, three of which are humanitarian. In the Lake Chad, Moyen Chari, and Logone Oriental provinces, UNFPA supports 34 health facilities by providing midwives, equipment, and products. Projects aimed at empowering women and adolescents are also conducted with income-generating activities for women's associations, preacher associations, and other women's groups.

Duties and Responsibilities: - Support all logistical operations related to the supplies of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), under the supervision of the supply chain specialist and in close collaboration with the country office supply chain team in Chad. - Provide quality logistical services and support operations in compliance with existing rules, guidelines, processes, and procedures. - Contribute to the updating and implementation of the Chad corridor operations concept for logistics, including import circuits, movement of goods (corridors), storage (hubs), and distribution networks to affected areas. - Ensure the overall logistics of UNFPA supplies in close collaboration with the operations team of the Sudan country office. - Collaborate with all relevant humanitarian partners to optimize UNFPA's supply chain and coordinate with health sector partners and UN agencies for planning and developing the medical supply chain in response. - Review shipping documents and coordinate with relevant authorities to authorize shipments while ensuring compliance with export and transport procedures defined by national authorities, the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), or the UN Country Team. - Process import documents and other relevant documents for incoming shipments as well as documentation related to cross-border operations in Chad. - Provide administrative support in maintaining records of shipments, inventories, and inspection reports related to shipments from the Sudan country office, including: receiving deliveries in the warehouse, conducting physical inventories and inspections, reporting damaged or lost items, and coordinating storage and unloading with warehouse focal points. - Organize supplies and supervise loading operations in N'Djamena to ensure that no items are omitted during the transport of supplies from temporary warehouses (World Food Programme (WFP); CPA) to UNFPA's Mobile Storage Unit (MSU) in Abéché. - Identify appropriate storage structures and transporters for medical supplies. - Travel, when necessary, to Abéché/Adré to supervise loading and unloading operations and coordinate cross-border movements. - Review and process supplier invoices in collaboration with finance colleagues from the Chad and Sudan country offices. - Coordinate with the part-time logistics assistant based in Abéché the loading and unloading operations of supplies and trucks, as well as the transportation of supplies across the border to Sudan.
Required Qualifications: - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. - Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. - Proficiency in logistics and supply chain management principles. - Familiarity with humanitarian operations and the UN system is an asset. - Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently when required.
Educational Background: - A degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field is preferred. - Additional training or certifications in logistics or supply chain management would be advantageous.
Experience: - Previous experience in logistics, supply chain management, or related fields is highly desirable. - Experience working in humanitarian settings or with international organizations is a plus. - Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
Languages: - Proficiency in French is mandatory. - Knowledge of English is an asset. - Knowledge of local languages spoken in Chad would be beneficial.
