Job Overview:
The Programme Associate position at UN Women involves providing comprehensive support to the Programme Team in Haiti. This role is crucial for the development and implementation of effective programs that align with UN Women’s rules and regulations. The Programme Associate will be responsible for various administrative, operational, and programmatic tasks, including financial management, research, and logistical support. The position requires close collaboration with operations, programme, and project personnel both within the country office and at UN Women’s regional and headquarters levels. The Programme Associate will play a vital role in ensuring that programs are executed efficiently and effectively, contributing to the overall mission of promoting gender equality and women's empowerment in Haiti.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for program formulation and management, including preparing work plans, budgets, and proposals, and offering technical guidance on program delivery and reporting.
  • Assist in financial management by creating projects in the Quantum system, preparing budget revisions, monitoring finances, and processing payments.
  • Organize logistical arrangements for meetings, workshops, and events, including travel arrangements for the Programme Team and preparing public information materials.
  • Support resource mobilization efforts by preparing agreements, following up on contributions, and compiling information from various stakeholders.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing by synthesizing lessons learned and organizing training for office personnel and partners.
  • Perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the office and organization.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have a minimum of secondary education, with a Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration being desirable. They should possess strong administrative skills, financial management capabilities, and the ability to execute administrative processes effectively. Proficiency in managing data and documents, as well as strong IT skills, are essential. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate a good understanding of program management and the ability to present information clearly and effectively.

Educational Background:
The minimum educational requirement for this position is the completion of secondary education. A Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration is preferred, indicating a higher level of understanding of administrative and program management principles.

Experience:
The position requires at least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in administration or program management/support. Candidates should have experience working in a computer environment with multiple office software packages and supporting a team. Familiarity with modern web-based ERP systems, preferably Oracle Cloud, is desirable, indicating a need for technical proficiency in managing program-related financial and administrative tasks.

Languages:
Fluency in French and Haitian Créole is mandatory for this position, as these are the primary languages used in the local context. Fluency in English is considered desirable, enhancing communication capabilities within the broader UN Women framework and with international stakeholders.
