Job Overview:

The primary function of the Guard is to patrol assigned areas, ensuring that all security measures are in place and functioning effectively. The Guard is expected to respond promptly to any incidents, providing assistance and ensuring the safety of all individuals within the NRC compound. Additionally, the Guard will be responsible for managing access to the compound, verifying the identity of visitors, and maintaining accurate records of all entries and exits. This position plays a vital role in creating a secure environment for NRC's operations and personnel.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Guard include but are not limited to:

• Patrolling assigned areas to ensure the security of NRC’s personnel, buildings, and properties.
• Monitoring for and reporting any irregularities or potential dangers, including fire hazards, water hazards, or unauthorized individuals.
• Inspecting perimeter defenses such as gates, doors, fences, lighting, and barbed wire to ensure they are intact and not tampered with.
• Responding to any attacks against the NRC compound by alerting occupants, calling for assistance, and facilitating evacuation if necessary.
• Attending the main gate at all times to deter unauthorized entry and to manage the entry and exit of authorized persons and vehicles.
• Checking the legal identity of all visitors and logging their entry and exit in the Visitors Book.
• Ensuring that visitors meet the individuals they are visiting and maintaining a record of all staff and visitors within the compound.
• Receiving and screening deliveries of mail/packages, logging all deliveries, and ensuring they are safe for entry.
• Ensuring proper handover to the replacement guard at the end of the shift. 1
• Adapting specific responsibilities based on the job location, operational phase, and program interventions as necessary.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the Guard position include:

• Proven experience working as a Guard in a humanitarian or recovery context.
• Previous experience in complex and volatile environments is essential.
• Documented results related to the responsibilities of the position, demonstrating effectiveness in similar roles.
• Strong understanding of security protocols and procedures relevant to the humanitarian sector.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and accountability in all tasks.

Educational Background:
