Job Overview: The Planning, Monitoring and ReportingCoordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring that a Results-Based Management (RBM) approach is integrated into the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) of Pakistan. This position involves overseeing the planning, monitoring, and evaluation of UN Women Pakistan's programs, ensuring that they align with strategic goals and deliver measurable results. The coordinator will manage Learning, Monitoring and Evaluation (LME) activities, assess and analyze program results, and produce reports on key achievements. The role requires collaboration with various units within UN Women, particularly the Partnership and Communications Unit, to guide programming in inclusive economies and gender-inclusive financing. The coordinator will also support senior management in strategic areas and contribute to the development of policy documents and strategic plans.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide specialized technical support on the strategic direction of the office and multi-stakeholder forums led by UN Women. This includes supporting senior management in strategic areas and ensuring compliance in program monitoring, reporting, and evaluation.
Prepare economic analyses to guide programming in inclusive and resilient economies and gender-inclusive financing (GIF). This involves leading the preparation of briefs and coordinating with stakeholders on GIF initiatives.
Facilitate the incorporation of monitoring and reporting into program formulation by developing monitoring indicators and quality assurance processes.
Monitor and track results against country/regional targets and the UN Women Strategic Plan, including drafting and monitoring the CO Monitoring, Evaluation, and Research Plan.
Support reporting of results to internal and external audiences, including drafting donor and program reports and reviewing partner progress reports.
Contribute to knowledge building and capacity development by identifying good practices and developing training materials for RBM and reporting.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a strong understanding of program formulation and implementation, particularly in Results-Based Management. They should have good knowledge of monitoring and evaluation, data collection, and reporting. The ability to synthesize program performance data and produce quality analytical reports is essential. Strong analytical and writing skills are required, along with familiarity with UN program management systems.
Educational Background: A Master’s degree in Political or Social Science, Project Management, Economics, International Development Studies, or Gender/Women's Studies is required for this position. This educational background is essential to understand the complexities of gender issues and development programs.
Experience: Candidates should have at least five years of progressively responsible experience in strategic program planning, monitoring, and reporting of development projects. Experience in developing participatory PM&E systems and analyzing data is crucial. Familiarity with UN System Coordination and gender-inclusive financing is considered an asset. Field experience is also beneficial, as is a strong track record in organizational management and technical skills related to planning and reporting.
Languages: Fluency in English and Urdu is required for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be advantageous but is not mandatory.
