Job Overview:
The UNSDCF Coordination Officer will play a crucial role in facilitating the coordination of the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) in Pakistan. This position involves acting as the focal point for five outcome groups, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among various stakeholders. The officer will be responsible for preparing progress reports, technical briefs, and meeting notes, contributing to the UNCT Annual Results Report 2024, and supporting the integration of youth-focused initiatives within the UN's framework. The role requires a proactive approach to enhance inter-agency collaboration and the application of digital tools to improve coordination efficiency. The officer will also develop a work plan for a Youth Working Group, establishing both short-term and long-term goals to integrate youth perspectives into UN initiatives in Pakistan.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The UNSDCF Coordination Officer will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including:
  • Serving as the focal point for five outcome groups, facilitating meetings, maintaining updated member lists, preparing agendas, and documenting minutes.
  • Preparing consolidated progress reports, technical briefs, and meeting notes as required.
  • Coordinating between Outcome Groups, the Programme Management Team (PMT), and the Planning Monitoring and Evaluation Group (PME) to ensure alignment with national priorities.
  • Integrating digital and innovative tools into coordination efforts to enhance efficiency and impact.
  • Collaborating with provincial-level stakeholders to support the alignment of initiatives with national priorities.
  • Assisting in the review and consolidation of monitoring frameworks for UNSDCF implementation.
  • Participating in stakeholder consultations and focus group discussions to ensure inclusivity in planning and implementation processes.
  • Supporting efforts to address data gaps and ensuring the use of disaggregated and inclusive data for planning and monitoring.
  • Assisting in preparing inputs for the UNCT Annual Results Report 2024, Common Country Analysis (CCA), and UNSDCF assessments. 1
  • Coordinating and supporting youth-focused initiatives across UN agencies, ensuring effective collaboration and alignment of youth-related priorities. 1
  • Organizing and leading quarterly Youth Group meetings, providing secretariat support, including agenda setting, coordination with agencies, documentation, and follow-up on agreed actions. 1
  • Leading the Youth Scorecard process and managing data entry in the UNSDG Information Management System (IMS). 1
  • Establishing and developing a Youth Working Group and preparing a report on how youth can be integrated into UN initiatives in Pakistan.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field. Relevant experience in coordination, project management, or program support is essential. Experience within the UN system or the development sector is considered an advantage, as it provides valuable insights into the operational dynamics and collaborative frameworks necessary for effective coordination.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as Development Studies or Social Sciences. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of development issues and the frameworks that guide UN operations in Pakistan.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have relevant experience in coordination, project management, or program support. Experience in the UN system or the development sector is highly desirable, as it equips the candidate with the necessary skills and knowledge to navigate the challenges of inter-agency collaboration and effective program implementation.

Languages:
Fluency in both Urdu and English is required for this position. Proficiency in these languages is essential for effective communication with diverse stakeholders and for the preparation of reports and documentation.
