Job Overview: The Field Coordinator position is crucial as it acts as the delegated director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director for the area of intervention. The individual in this role will lead the field base, define and steer the operational strategy in accordance with the humanitarian and geopolitical context, ensure program quality and compliance with SI standards, mobilize necessary resources for implementation, manage teams, and oversee safety, representation, and external coordination. The position requires navigating a highly complex and volatile security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security environment, particularly in the context of the ongoing ceasefire. The Field Coordinator will also be responsible for training and guiding a less experienced team, ensuring the regularization of processes and communications, and enhancing implementation capacity, especially if additional funding is secured from new donors. The first few months will focus on ensuring team safety, monitoring team growth, and understanding the operational context to shape SI's role effectively.

Educational Background: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in relevant fields such as humanitarian project management, logistics, supply chain, or management. This educational background is essential to ensure that the candidate has the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to effectively manage humanitarian projects and operations.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have a minimum of 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with 0-2 years specifically in a similar role. This experience is crucial for understanding the complexities of humanitarian work, particularly in volatile environments like Gaza, and for effectively leading a team in such contexts.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in Arabic is considered a strong asset, while knowledge of French is also advantageous. These language skills are essential for effective communication with team members, local partners, and stakeholders in the region.

The role is based in Gaza, specifically in Deir-el-Balah, where SI maintains its office and guesthouse. The salary for this position starts from EUR 3080 gross per month, which includes a base salary of EUR 2800 and a 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly. Additionally, a monthly Per Diem of USD 750 is provided. SI covers accommodation costs and travel expenses between the expatriate's country of origin and the place of assignment. The position includes a rotation system, allowing for breaks every 8 weeks, with 14 days out of Gaza. Expatriates benefit from a comprehensive insurance package that covers healthcare expenses, including medical, surgical, dental, and ophthalmological care, as well as repatriation costs. Essential vaccinations and antimalarial treatment costs are also reimbursed. Living conditions in Gaza have improved since the ceasefire, with basic food items available, although prices remain high. The SI office and guesthouse are powered by solar energy, which may lead to occasional shortages, particularly in winter. Internet access is available but may experience limited outages.
