Job Overview: The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) program assignment aims to provide technical support to UNICEF's Protection team in Argentina for the 2026-2030 cooperation program. The goal is to ensure that children and adolescents are protected from violence and have access to special protection services and specialized justice. The volunteer will assist in producing evidence, evaluations, and statistical analyses, strengthening institutional prevention and response capacities, enhancing the regulatory framework for rights protection, and improving intersectoral coordination for comprehensive responses to violence.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Production of evidence, studies, evaluations, and analysis of records and statistical information on juvenile justice. This includes drafting technical documents, producing reports with key indicators, and developing baseline strategies for juvenile justice systems.
Strengthening the regulatory framework for rights protection and its effective implementation, including technical documents for the new juvenile criminal regime and protocols for interventions with adolescents in contact with the penal system.
Strengthening protection circuits and inter-institutional coordination for implementing protection measures, including designing standards and strategies for inter-institutional agreements.
Promoting coordination and articulation of actions in the area of Protection and Access to Justice, including participation in UNICEF coordination spaces and creating guides for relevant dates related to protection issues.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must demonstrate accountability, adaptability, creativity, sound judgment, planning and organization skills, professionalism, self-management, integrity, teamwork, respect for diversity, commitment to continuous learning, and effective communication skills. Experience: Candidates should have experience in child protection, juvenile justice, or related fields. Previous work with international organizations, NGOs, or government agencies in similar roles is highly desirable. Experience in data analysis, report writing, and inter-institutional coordination will be beneficial for the successful execution of the duties outlined.
Languages: Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as the position is based in Argentina. Proficiency in English is desirable and would be considered an asset, especially for communication with international stakeholders and documentation.
Additional Notes: This is a national volunteer assignment, and the volunteer will be responsible for securing their own housing and essentials for living. The position offers a monthly allowance of ARS 2,651,353 to cover essential needs, a pre-assignment allowance of USD 350, and a final assignment allowance upon contract completion. Volunteers will receive medical insurance, life insurance, and disability coverage, as well as medical insurance for eligible dependents. Accumulated vacation days are 2.5 per month, and access to learning platforms is provided.
