Established in 1965, UNDP operates in approximately 170 countries and territories, working with governments and communities to address development challenges. The organization focuses on various areas including democratic governance, sustainable development, and crisis prevention and recovery. UNDP's mission is to help countries achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by providing expert advice, training, and support for development initiatives.
Job Overview: The position of Online Volunteer for CRM Optimization is part of UNDP’s Global Programme on Nature for Development, which encompasses initiatives aimed at promoting nature-based solutions to achieve sustainable development goals. The volunteer will play a crucial role in the National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plan (NBSAP) Accelerator Partnership, which is a global initiative designed to support countries in implementing their biodiversity strategies effectively. The volunteer will be responsible for conducting user research and analysis to optimize the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, which is essential for the success of the NBSAP Accelerator Partnership's MatchMaking Mechanism. This mechanism aims to connect countries with the necessary technical and financial support to enhance their biodiversity efforts. The volunteer will engage in user experience research, develop a CRM optimization brief, and contribute to the digital strategy for the second phase of the initiative. This role requires collaboration with the MatchMaking team and involves creating user personas, journey maps, and service blueprints to inform the design process.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Online Volunteer include: conducting user research to gather insights on user experience and requirements; developing a CRM optimization brief; attending and analyzing results from two online user experience focus groups; conducting research that contributes to the development of a digital strategy for Phase 2; collaborating closely with the MatchMaking team to align the CRM optimization strategy with user needs and platform objectives; capturing feedback from Phase 1 and integrating it into the vision for Phase 2; creating user personas, journey maps, and service blueprints to inform design processes; and receiving onboarding information and regular feedback to guide contributions effectively. All tasks will be performed remotely, allowing for flexibility in work hours.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate for this position should possess strong analytical and research skills, particularly in the context of user experience and CRM optimization. Familiarity with digital strategy development and user-centered design principles is essential. The candidate should also demonstrate effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to facilitate collaboration with the MatchMaking team and other stakeholders. A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently in a remote setting are also important qualifications for this role.
Educational Background: Candidates should ideally have a background in fields related to environmental science, sustainable development, information technology, or a related discipline. A degree or coursework in user experience design, human-computer interaction, or a similar area would be advantageous. Additionally, familiarity with CRM systems and digital platforms is preferred.
Experience: While specific years of experience may not be required, candidates should have some practical experience or coursework related to user research, CRM optimization, or digital strategy development. Experience working in a remote team environment and familiarity with online collaboration tools will be beneficial for this role.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, as all communications and documentation will be conducted in this language. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly those relevant to the countries involved in the NBSAP Accelerator Partnership, would be considered an asset but is not required.
Additional Notes: This is a volunteer position that allows for remote work, providing flexibility in terms of hours and location. The duration of the contract is not specified, but the volunteer is expected to contribute to the project as needed. This role is suitable for individuals looking to gain experience in international development, user experience research, and CRM optimization within a global organization like UNDP.
