Job Overview:
The Administrative/Finance Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the UN Women Humanitarian Programme in Ukraine. This position involves executing a wide range of financial services and administrative processes, ensuring that the Humanitarian Programme's portfolio of projects is managed efficiently and transparently. The Assistant will be responsible for providing general administration and operations support, coordinating procurement processes, and offering finance support in compliance with UN Women rules and regulations. The role requires a client-oriented approach and collaboration with various teams to address complex finance-related issues. The Assistant will also maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with organizational policies, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the Humanitarian Programme.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide general administration and operations support to the Humanitarian Programme, including day-to-day administrative tasks, travel arrangements, and logistical support for meetings and events.
  • Coordinate procurement processes, monitor office supplies, and assist in the preparation of procurement plans.
  • Provide finance support by processing financial transactions, maintaining financial records, and assisting in audits and donor reporting.
  • Perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization, ensuring compliance with UN Women standards and regulations.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong administrative and finance skills, with a solid understanding of UN Women rules and regulations. They should demonstrate the ability to handle confidential information, manage a high volume of work, and possess strong IT and web-based management skills. Additionally, candidates should have excellent communication and problem-solving abilities, as well as a commitment to gender equality and women's empowerment.

Educational Background:
A minimum of a bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field is required. Candidates with additional certifications in finance or administration will be considered an asset.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 2 years of relevant experience in administrative and finance roles, preferably within an international organization or a non-governmental organization. Experience in procurement processes and financial management is highly desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, while knowledge of Ukrainian or Russian is considered an asset. Proficiency in additional languages may enhance a candidate's application.

Additional Notes:
This is a full-time national UN Volunteer position based in Kyiv, Ukraine. The contract duration is subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance, with no expectation of renewal. The position offers a Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) of USD 1717 per month, along with a one-time entry lump sum payment of USD 35
