Job Overview: The position involves providing technical assistance for the establishment and positioning of the National Network of Women in MAPE (Mujeres en la Agricultura y la Pesca) as a sectoral governance mechanism. Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide technical guidance and support for the establishment of the National Network of Women in MAPE.
Develop a strategic plan for the network's formation and operationalization.
Conduct stakeholder mapping and engage with relevant organizations and individuals to promote the network.
Organize workshops and training sessions to empower women in the sector.
Facilitate communication and collaboration among network members and stakeholders.
Monitor and evaluate the progress of the network's establishment and provide recommendations for improvement.
Prepare reports and documentation on the network's activities and outcomes.
Ensure that the network aligns with national policies and international best practices in gender equality and sustainable development.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience in gender equality, women's empowerment, and community development.
Strong understanding of the agricultural and fishing sectors, particularly in relation to women's roles and contributions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Familiarity with UNDP's policies and procedures is an asset.
Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in social sciences, gender studies, development studies, or a related field is required. A master's degree in a relevant discipline is preferred and may be considered an advantage.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in gender equality, community development, or related fields is required. Experience working with women's organizations or networks is highly desirable. Familiarity with the agricultural and fishing sectors will be considered an asset.
Languages: Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as the position requires communication with local stakeholders. Proficiency in English is considered an asset, particularly for reporting and documentation purposes.
Additional Notes: The contract duration is for 180 effective working days within a total of 270 calendar days.
