Job Posting Organization:
The internship is located within the Capacity Development and Operational Training Service (CDOTS) in the Department of Operational Support (DOS) of the United Nations. CDOTS is dedicated to providing operational training, language and communications training, and training on the UN’s enterprise resource planning system. The organization is committed to knowledge management and leads business process management activities within the UN Secretariat. Job Overview:
This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the UN's mission while gaining valuable insights and practical skills in the field of learning and development. The intern will work under the supervision of the Training Officer and will be involved in various aspects of HR-related training programs. The role includes supporting the design, development, and implementation of training initiatives, as well as assisting in the creation and updating of training materials such as e-learning modules and user guides. The intern will also collect and analyze data related to learning and development initiatives to measure their effectiveness and suggest improvements. Additionally, the intern will explore and recommend innovative learning technologies and tools to enhance the training experience, conduct research on learning and development trends, and collaborate with team members and stakeholders to ensure the smooth execution of training initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for supporting the design, development, and implementation of HR-related training programs. This includes assisting in creating and updating training materials, such as e-learning modules and training manuals/user guides. The intern will collect and analyze data related to learning and development initiatives to measure their effectiveness and suggest improvements. They will explore and recommend innovative learning technologies and tools to enhance the training experience. Conducting research on learning and development trends, best practices, and emerging methodologies will also be part of the role. The intern will collaborate with team members and stakeholders to ensure the smooth execution of training initiatives, contributing to the overall success of the learning and development team.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). While professional work experience is not required for the UN Internship Programme, a field of study closely related to the internship is necessary. Applicants must be proficient in standard office software systems, such as MS Office 365 or similar. Preference will be given to those with a strong background in instructional design and proficiency in content authoring software like Articulate 360 and/or Adobe Captivate, as well as Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro), and experience using a Moodle-based Learning Management System.

Educational Background:
Candidates must be students in the final year of their first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), or enrolled in or have completed a Master’s or PhD Programme or equivalent. Proof of enrollment or completion must be attached to the application, and an official certificate will be required at a later stage.

Experience:
While no professional work experience is required, applicants should have relevant academic experience or coursework that aligns with the internship's focus on learning and development. This could include projects, research, or other academic work that demonstrates a commitment to the field.

Languages:
Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship. Knowledge of an additional official UN language is desirable. The working languages of the United Nations Secretariat are English and French, and the official languages include Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, and Spanish.

The internship is available in person in New York or remotely, with full-time or part-time modalities considered. The expected duration of the internship is 3-6 months, with a start date in May 202

The United Nations does not charge any fees at any stage of the recruitment process.
