Job Overview: The Analyst position at EBRD is integral to the project cycle, encompassing project origination, structuring, execution, implementation, and monitoring. The Analyst will be responsible for various tasks assigned by the operation leader or senior project team members, which include conducting thorough due diligence across financial, market, integrity, and EBRD policy compliance aspects. The role requires the Analyst to work collaboratively within a project team, ensuring that all assigned tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard. The Analyst will also engage in portfolio monitoring and value creation, contributing to the overall success of the projects they are involved in. Duties and Responsibilities: The Analyst's responsibilities include:
Structuring and Execution: - Collaborating as a project team member on transactions, contributing to project structuring and execution through comprehensive research and analysis of relevant materials. - Evaluating potential risks associated with proposed projects, including financial statement analysis and financial modeling. - Assisting in the design and processing of technical cooperation assistance, preparing necessary documentation for investment projects. - Communicating effectively with internal units, clients, and stakeholders, preparing correspondence and presentations as needed. - Ensuring timely completion of tasks in accordance with the Bank's policies and objectives.
Portfolio Monitoring, Value Creation, and Reporting: - Undertaking tasks related to project implementation and monitoring, ensuring compliance with agreements and procedures. - Preparing draft monitoring reports with recommendations for corrective actions, ensuring these are communicated to senior team members. - Assisting with the implementation and monitoring of technical cooperation assignments, including client communication and reporting requirements. The Analyst's role is designed to evolve, allowing for increased complexity and responsibility as experience is gained.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree, with a Master’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in relevant fields. Professional qualifications such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA are desirable. Strong quantitative and numerical skills are essential, along with the ability to interpret financial information and develop financial models. Candidates should have credit analysis skills, familiarity with local and international accounting principles, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial analysis tools. Effective teamwork, communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure are also critical for success in this role.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred, as it provides a deeper understanding of financial principles and practices. Candidates with equivalent professional experience in relevant areas may also be considered, particularly if they demonstrate strong analytical and quantitative skills.
Experience: Relevant experience in the financial industry is required, ideally from an investment or commercial bank, private equity firm, asset management firm, or auditing/financial consulting firm that adheres to international standards. Candidates should have exposure to industry or country-specific experience, which will enhance their ability to contribute effectively to the EBRD's projects and initiatives.
Languages: Proficiency in English is mandatory, with strong written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of the local language is considered an advantage, as it facilitates better communication with local stakeholders and enhances the Analyst's effectiveness in the role.
