Job Overview: The position at Catholic Relief Services involves a range of functions aimed at supporting the organization's mission to assist those in need. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
Implementing and managing programs in line with CRS's mission and strategic objectives.
Collaborating with local partners and stakeholders to ensure effective program delivery.
Conducting assessments to identify community needs and develop appropriate interventions.
Monitoring and evaluating program outcomes to ensure accountability and effectiveness.
Providing training and capacity-building support to local staff and partners.
Ensuring compliance with CRS's safeguarding policies and procedures.
Engaging with community members to promote awareness and participation in programs.
Preparing reports and documentation related to program activities and outcomes.
Participating in team meetings and contributing to organizational learning and improvement.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a strong commitment to the mission and values of Catholic Relief Services. Required qualifications include:
Proven experience in humanitarian work or related fields.
Ability to work collaboratively in diverse teams and with various stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Commitment to safeguarding vulnerable populations and adhering to ethical standards.
Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as international development, social work, public health, or a related discipline is required. Advanced degrees or specialized training in humanitarian assistance or program management are preferred and may enhance a candidate's qualifications for the position.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in humanitarian work, program management, or a related field. Experience working in developing countries or in emergency response situations is highly desirable. Familiarity with the local context in Malawi or similar regions will be an advantage.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization. Knowledge of local languages spoken in Malawi is considered a strong asset and may enhance the candidate's ability to engage effectively with community members and stakeholders.
Additional Notes: The position may involve a contract duration that is contingent upon funding and organizational needs. It is expected to be a full-time role, with the possibility of international recruitment. Compensation and benefits will be commensurate with experience and in line with CRS's policies.
