Job Overview: The position of Responsable de Département - Nutrition et Santé involves defining strategies and coordinating ACF's interventions in the health and nutrition sectors. The role requires a strong technical and managerial support, specifically responsible for designing, capitalizing, and evaluating nutritional and health interventions, as well as defining the strategy and positioning of the Nutrition and Health department. The individual will coordinate and ensure the quality and accountability of programs in nutrition and health, serve as the direct supervisor for the Nutrition Health team in the capital, and functionally manage the Nutrition Health Program Managers at the bases. Additionally, the role includes developing and animating programs and advocacy in partnership with national and local stakeholders, as well as representing ACF and advocating its positions in the health and nutrition domains.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities for this position include:
Designing, capitalizing, and evaluating nutritional and health interventions.
Defining the strategy and positioning of the Nutrition and Health department.
Coordinating and ensuring the quality and accountability of programs in nutrition and health.
Serving as the direct supervisor for the Nutrition Health team in the capital.
Functionally managing the Nutrition Health Program Managers at the bases.
Developing and animating programs and advocacy in partnership with national and local stakeholders.
Representing ACF and advocating its positions in the health and nutrition sectors.
Engaging with partners, authorities, and donors to foster collaboration and support for ACF's initiatives.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for this position include:
A Master's degree in Public Health or a medical degree with a specialization in nutrition.
Eligibility for paramedical profiles with a specialization in nutrition.
Experience in managing acute malnutrition, community-based malnutrition prevention activities, and maternal and child care practices.
A minimum of three years of experience in humanitarian project management and/or development related to nutrition and health.
Significant experience in needs assessment, project writing, and external reporting in the nutrition and health fields.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a Master's degree in Public Health or a medical degree with a specialization in nutrition. Paramedical profiles with a specialization in nutrition are also eligible for this position.
Experience: Candidates should have at least three years of experience in humanitarian project management and/or development related to nutrition and health. This experience should include managing acute malnutrition and community-based prevention activities, as well as significant involvement in needs assessment, project writing, and reporting in the nutrition and health sectors.
Languages: Fluency in French is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication in Burkina Faso. Knowledge of English is considered an asset, as it may facilitate communication with international partners and stakeholders.
Additional Notes: The employment conditions include a contract duration of 12 months with a three-month probation period. The position is based in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. The salary will be according to ACF's salary scale, with the possibility of annual progression based on performance.
